Green Lantern18 54
not so sure the barcodes would have lost 8 on the trot w/ Pardew. That was never the case when he was in charge there.Well, Alan Pardew was still in charge of Newcastle, when they lost six games in a row, towards the end of the last season. To make things worse, they only scored in one of those six matches. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013%E2%80%9314_Newcastle_United_F.C._season#MatchesSo yeah Tomo was right about Pardew's Time at Newcastle, but these sorts of collapses are bound to happen.Because there is no desire at Newcastle to make any sort of progress, as Mike Ashley only wants to keep Newcastle in the Premier League. But he apparently doesn't want the club to get into Europe or have a domestic cup run. So it's easy to see why Newcastle fans are unhappy with the way that their club is run. Tomo

robdog 2,084
just for you folks counting barcode points, newcraple under Carver have just earned 6 points. I will stick w/ my assessment that the barcodes wouldn't have done that badly under Pardew. It's safe to say he is in over his head as a gaffer in the Top Flight. Jase 43,479
Pardew might not have been great at Newcastle but I don't think there's any question that they would be safe right now had he still been in charge. John Carver is just not a manager really. Viper22
Popular Post! Special Juan 28,141 Posted May 5, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 5, 2015 The pressure from the Newcastle fans is stupid. Even when they do well they still call for Ashley out, that is not good. They think they are bigger than they are and also think they are too big to go down. They rank right up there with the most egotistical supporters in the world, believe me. Viper22, robdog, Chels and 2 others
Tomo 21,751
Pardew might not have been great at Newcastle but I don't think there's any question that they would be safe right now had he still been in charge. John Carver is just not a manager really.Obviously he would be doing better than Carver to suggest otherwise would be moronic, the point for me is the Carver disaster doesn't automatically mean Pardew was suddenly better than he was or people thought. It's like when LVG struggled at the start this season people questioned whether Moyes was really that bad at United, well yes he was he did awful and deserved the sack and that fact wouldn't change even if Louis relegated them. Spike 12,049
Season review:Success - 10/10 Won the league. Not much else to say.Performance - 5/10While there were some amazing matches. Swansea 4-2, and Everton 3-6 most of the matches this season were dire to watch. Aside from moments of brilliance there really isn' t much to remember at the end of the day. Found myself very bored during a lot of match days, especially during the second half of the season. But saying that Mourinho did what had to be done and the team is champions for the result of it. In the future exciting games coupled with the same success would be ideal but at the moment it seems to be one or the other and success is ultimately more important right now. The results were nearly always perfect but I will refuse to say that I enjoy watching every Chelsea match. Win the team kick up a gear as seen in the second half against Leceister, they are a joy to watch but that isn't seen in every match. It was kind of ambivalent, I always knew the team was going to win so there was no relief nor excitement when the team did actually come through with a victory and the league title. It is hard to get excited for something that has been apparent for several months. I was probably more excited during December and November than the day Chelsea actually won. Mainly because that is around the time that it became very apparent that Chelsea were not budging from the number one position. iseah100 and DYC.

OhForAGreavsie 6,077
In EPL can a team refuse performing guard of honour? Or it's mandatory and every team has to perform it for the champion?Teams do not have to it. The guard of honour is an entirely voluntary tradition, albeit one which stretches back many years. (I have read opinions claiming that it is a relatively new thing but that's not so. I remember them from when I was a boy and that was a very long time ago. ) Special
