How the change in homegrown rules will affect us

"Premier League leaders Chelsea have 15 players in their current squad classed as non-home grown:

Cesar Azpilicueta, Petr Cech, Diego Costa, Thibaut Courtois, Juan Cuadrado, Didier Drogba, Eden Hazard, Branislav Ivanovic, Filipe Luis, Nemanja Matic, John Obi Mikel, Oscar, Ramires, Loic Remy and Willian.

Furthermore Cesc Fabregas would no longer be classed as a home-grown player under the new rules.

That means Jose Mourinho would need to axe three of the overseas stars listed above if the rules were in place today."

THE premier league have yet to agree to Dyck Heads proposal

There is no way the premier league will agree to his proposal...just imagine English clubs trying to perform in the UCL?

Everyone would get knocked out in the group stages like Liverpool

PL clubs WILL agree ,,, when Turkeys vote for Xmas and Blatter steps down

Whether or not it goes through, still interesting to see how it'll affect us.

I don't want a league of Liverpool-esque philisophy of English talent.

I don't see why English players can't be more open to gaining experience over in Europe.

Dyke's strategy makes no sense for English clubs.

I would love to see a rule whereby every EPL club has to use ONE Under-23 English player for all EPL matches. That way, at least one youngster from each club has a chance of making it..

That kind of rule would be tough to enforce, and I doubt any club would accept it. For eg. what would happen if said English player was unavailable because of injury?

But I completely agree with you on the first part. His strategy makes no sense whatsoever.
