With sturridge injury records, I'm beginning to think selling him was a bargain. The dude just can't stay fit

The fact we got 12M for him when he had 6 months on his contract and was playing pretty shit (after a good six months where he had performed admirably well on the wing) kind of justified selling him and put out a message either he'd done something that made Di Matteo not want to give him a regular role. I mean Robbie wasn't the greatest manager but he was hardly stupid was he? If he could get the same performances out of him that Andre did, he would have played him, wouldn't he?

Sturridge's poor injury record this last while is weird but I mean he says it could possibly be down to something genetic but its probably something to do with Rodgers' coaching techniques or Hodgson's coaching techniques and their training schedules too. Perhaps rushing him back too soon or something. The same was said of David Moyes with RvP last season. Rushing him back, pushing him too hard too soon.

We all could have a long discussion about that, but probably in the end people will blaming Torres anyway

Marouane Fellaini didn't mean to hurt Joe Allen... you have to remember he's very large, says the Manchester United ace's dad

Abdellatif Fellaini told Derniere Heure: 'Marouane didn't do it on purpose. Have you seen how those Welshmen put their feet? Have you seen what they did to [Dries] Mertens? They had to be played strongly and Marouane did, but he never wanted to injure someone.

'Marouane has, in fact, never injured anyone intentionally in his career.

'However, he has already been hurt on the field. Besides, you must also realise Marouane is very large. When he goes into battle with a small player, his elbows are level with the face of his opponent. Against his will.

'He knows himself that he is not a dirty player and can look straight into the mirror.'

Or Mikel and then the next thing will be someone saying Thiago Alcantara is better than Fabregas and so on and so forth.

The training methods of coaches could be a huge part of this. Especially as people like wenger, Klopp, and a few others are notorious for their players getting injured

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Before he joined Liverpool, he was hardly injured for us. The only issue was the length of it. Now, he's getting more injuries and different ones at that.

Honestly i think Robbie was told to play Torres, lets be honest Robbie wasn't even under consideration pre Munich and even that didn't suddenly change things either, while on Robbie's hand this was his dream job, the pinnacle of his career, the club he loves. Roman on the other hand simply settled for him, he probably said that he can have the job under the condition Nando plays unless he is banned or injured, RDM wanted the job so much he probably just said yeah whatever, if he refused then he wouldn't have got his dream job.

Its no coincidence Torres got dropped in that Juve match and we went in without a striker, RDM knew he was gone and that was a message, he was as sick of Torres as we were.

I'd rather have Daniel for one third of the season than Torres playing 50 matches... no discussion about it imo
