Madmax 9,219
John Terry believes David Luiz can eventually succeed him as Chelsea's captain.David Luiz has become an instant crowd favourite at Stamford Bridge with his swashbuckling style and by fooling about in television interviews. And Terry believes his impact has been so great that he is now a shoo in for the skipper's armband.Terry, 30, still has plenty of football left in him at the West London club, but told the Daily Star of the Brazil international defender: "David is incredible. To have such an impact at such an early stage of his career here is amazing."Normally, when a player first comes in it will take him at least three or four weeks to settle but David has come in and hit the ground running straight away. It's very different for him over here. He has played in Portugal with Benfica, so he is learning about our game all the time."We are talking long-term here but, for me, with the quality he has, he is possibly a future captain of this football club."David is a great lad. He wants to learn and improve every day. That is something we will get to see the longer he is here."Soccernet
Tomo 21,751
Hard to argue with that, his presence has seemed to inspire new life into us, hopefully he will help when the chips are down next time

He'd have to learn English well first, the captain embodies a lot of thing at Chelsea, the passion & loyalty for the club
Term-X 7,891
The captain has to speak fluent English imo.I wouldn’t take these comments from Terry seriously either, he’s just giving the lad a confidence boost, it will make him feel at home. Bertrand's a good shout as well! With 150+ appearances to his name in the Championship he's got enough experience to lead out our side and know how to be a leader. Billy Clifford, Connor Clifford, heck even Josh could do it one day
chrismada9 1,948
Josh McEachran? Not a bad call! Seriously though, I'd love it if Luiz was one day our captain. His displays so far have been really impressive since we signed him!!
TomCFC 357
Too early to call, especially as Luiz's English will need to improve dramatically and he needs to become less of a liability in terms of tackles. JT's words will help boost his confidence even more, though.
