Rubber bullets 1,183
With the upcoming CL match I was going through a nostalgia moment by reading these articles about one of the most important goals in our history and the start of the Roman era.Its funny that we criticise Carlo for being tacticly stubborn and not have a flexible outlook on the pitch when we use to have manager (Ranieri) that would make changes that could defy belief and logic. But he can be given credit for playing a big role in the Chelsea revolution. Here are Jesper's memories on those two dramatic seasons:http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/jesper-gronkjaer-the-winger-who-scored-chelseas-1bn-goal-2220694.htmlhttp://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/feb/20/roman-abramovich-chelseahttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/8336684/FC-Copenhagen-v-Chelsea-Jesper-Gronkjaer-and-the-1-billion-goal-that-changed-Chelseas-history.html
Madmax 9,219
Have we ever seen a more hot-n-cold player at the Bridge? A good sort, I liked him though his inconsistency was quite frustrating. Hope he receives a great ovation in the return leg :cfc:

steve5221 91
I remember seeing him in Richmond drinking on his own once - looked a bit of an oddball!!
- 25 - 167
Ah, remember that game well. Still up there as one of the most emotional and stressful games I've seen.So much riding on that game considering our finances. Nobody could have imagined the importance at the time though.Bit simplistic to say that it was his £1b goal that changed everything though, maybe if he didnt overhit or sky most of his crosses we may have had 4th sewed up earlier. steve5221 91
The problem with Gronkjaer was he was such a bottle job - I remember when Ash played for Arsenal and he was physically superior to him...
