But who could he play in midfield? Yossi who knows how to set strikers is injured. Zhirkov who can play on left wing is injured.

Ramires was ok, but he mostly tackles and makes simple passes.

Attacking midfielder is a top priority in the summer.

No it's not. We need CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS with technical ability. An attacking midfielder is a player like VdV who will get into goal scoring positions and run onto things. We do not need that.

We need players who can pass and move. This is our biggest problem. We need thinking footballers with technical ability.

Essien and co need 4 touches to get the ball under control and make a pass. In that time the opposition defence has had enough time to get themselves back into position

Creative midfielders should've been our main transfer targets for over 2 years now..

Even though I already love Luiz, he and Torres should not have been the players we brought to the club in January. We were painfully obvious in desperate need of creativity in midfield and attack (wingers).

Get two new wingers and a creative midfielder (or play the youngsters that fit that bill) and we're a topteam again

It's CA's job to keep his players sharp, highly motivated and give them the confidence and feeling they are the best (the last one is for coach at a big club). It's his job to play his best performing players, it's his job to rest them when needed and it's his job to pick the right tactics and line-up.

It's obvious whatever he's been doing for the last 4, 5 months isn't working. If things don't go well for a few games, fair enough. If things don't go well for such long periods, you have to change whatever your doing in all the/some of the areas I mentioned.

When one or two players aren't performing, you can't blame the coach. When the whole team is underperforming, the coach has a lot to do with that. It's simply not possible for a 'entire' team to play under there level.

I don't what's going on and what's happened to us but it's CA's job to fix it, whatever it takes.

That's all I have to say in this issue.

:goodpost:

i guess we don't just share similar names , but same ideas as well except that i don't think carlo is actually capable to fix this and as much as i hate to say that but i hope we will be seeing a new manager very soon ...

also an actually useful assistant manager is needed ...

and that is exactly my point , when a player or two are poor then it is probably not the manager's fault , but when most of your players are poor then the manager should be questioned ...

if carlo did his job alright , then no one should be saying we lost because torres was not at his best , if torres couldn't score then Drogba , anelka , kalou essien or lamps should have scored

but when they are all poor and when our play is shit then the problem is the tactics not the players , we have 3 world class strikers in torres , Drogba and anelka ... we have superb midfielders in lamps , malouda , essien and ramires ...

Carlo's job is to get the best out of all of them ... and he obviously is not capable of doing so .

Drogba was destroyed by malaria, Malouda had his peak last season imo he won't play like last season anymore. It is sad but Lampard is coming to a point when he will need to sit on the bench and come occasionally.

Like Scholes/Giggs, he isn't able to play so many games anymore.

Explain me what tactics should we play? They should have controlled the ball in the first half and play it on the ground. If you watched Malouda, high ball was kicked towards him he didn't even try to calm it, but he instantly headed or kicked it towards Torres. Come on, I'm pretty sure that wasn't what Carlo wanted. Who would want his team to play like that.

Fulham defended for much of the the game in two banks of four, Making it difficult for us to break them down. They realised that a midfield of Lampard, Essien and Ramires would find it hard to break it down, Because they usually are direct runners. We need a creative midfielder. I don't know why Ancelloti took off Torres, If he took off Malouda we could have had a front three of Drogba - Torres - Kalou, which would have been very dangerous. The fact of the matter is our current squad is not up to winning the league, Because of our midfield. Harsh in the fact that you have to drop either Essien, Lampard or Ramires/Mikel, But in the summer Drogba will probably go. Sign a good winger and a good creative midfielder, Play a 4-3-2-1, Midfield of Lampard, Ramires and the new signing, Then a creative midfielder and a new winger behind Torres.

David Luiz was awesome tonight, Unlucky with the penalty, But wow, What a fucking game. Couldn't have dreamed of a better 90 minutes. Keep it up and he will become one of the best defenders in the world.

You are right about Essien, but i think that Mikel is better than him. He needs less touches. He knows what his next move will be.

Player like Christian Eriksen would be very welcome here. I watched him play for Ajax a little bit, and he was fantastic. He was pulling all the strings for them.

Midfielders like that know how to control your attack, and imo we lack right that. Chances for our strikers.

Yes i was thinking the same. One wide player and a midfielder. Also give Kakuta more chances, imo he will be ready next season.

And with Dempsey's penalty, replays showed Drogba was clearly in the box when the spot-kick was taken, but Mike Dean did not order it to be retaken.

Hell, if he did, can't imagine the stick he would get here

I have also read Chelsea players lost the ball 28 times. That's unbelievable.

A very frustrating game to be sure. We sorely lacked the ability to unlock the door on the cottagers' parked bus. There was no quality in the final third. We lacked width for the majority of the game as well. Definitely need some pacy, skillful wingers to come in. Also, Anelka and Lampard generally were far too deep. In order to not make this a completely negative post, I will say that Luiz (bar his error at the end) is fantastic. What a player! Also, Ramires had a great performance today. I am a huge fan of the energy and desire he brings to our side.

skysports

Replays showed Chelsea striker Didier Drogba encroached into the area for the spot kick but referee Mike Dean did not allow a retake as the game finished all square.

Hughes told Sky Sports HD1: "We're a little bit aggrieved because obviously there's interference in the box and Mike Dean can see it very clearly.

"Drogba actually had to stop his run or he would have gone past the ball, I think. So Mike Dean has got to call it back and let the boy retake it. But there you go.

"There's encroachment in the box and it's clear that Drogba is in the eye-line. There's a shadow that goes across the pitch that obviously Clint would have been aware of."

Oh come on :D
