Guess Whose Back

Roman Abramovich, as we know him best, spending huge amounts of money, making headlines and doing what is right for Chelsea football club. For most people, signing Fernando Torres in the most expensive British transfer in history would be enough but then Roman Abramovich is not most people, he also splurges 21 million on Brazilian international, 23 year old David Luiz. Once again, as he has done time and time again, over and over again, Roman Abramovich has proven his dedication to Chelsea, his love of Chelsea and the Chelsea fans adore him in return, when the history of the club is written, Roman will be up their with some of the great names in our clubs history as being one of the most influential people to ever step foot inside Stamford Bridge.

From a football standpoint what an incredible double deal, to the point where it hasn't even fully sunken in yet. This morning I felt 50-50 as to wether we would be able to complete the deal for Torres but I never imagined we would also sign David Luiz after Benfica had announced that negotiations with Chelsea had ended unsuccessfully. In Torres and Luiz, Chelsea have signed 2 top drawer players, players of the very highest calibre. Nobody needs reminding of the quality of Fernando Torres, one of the great strikers in world football, a hero and idol to many. David Luiz is less well known but will likely be the first choice centre back to partner Terry, technically gifted, fast, strong, intelligent, he is rated as one of the hottest prospects in European football, he is Brazil's first choice centre back and at only 23 years of age has a lot of years to give Chelsea.

Today will go down as a history making day for Chelsea, we smashed the British transfer record to bring to Chelsea the face of the Premier League and along with him we brought in a player of supreme quality and potential, lesson learned, never write off Chelsea, espcially not with Fernando Torres, Chelsea's number 9.

Yea, agreed.

Before all the pandemonium I thought it was 50-50 on whether he would sign, never mind Luiz. I thought that was over, especially when Benfica reportedly wanted £30m+ for him, and the deal broke down.

Historic night, hope it all starts to sink in soon.
