nadavTKL 1,787
I realy dont get how a lot of you let Essien seat on the bench... are you crazy?! I would go for this:Iva-----Alex --Terry----Cole-------------Mikel---------------- Essien-----Malouda-----------Lampard---------------Torres---- Drogba----Ramirez, Bosingwa and Luiz can be in there too, but i think this is the best for now. termninja 5,290
I like the Christmas tree idea, with offensive right and left back exploiting the wings and Essien and Mikel/Ramires covering for them I think we can be quite dangerous. LDN Blue 7,903
Nice idea Sh0n3x however my only concern is about Drogba and his position in that. Would he stick to it..
termninja 5,290
Nice idea Sh0n3x however my only concern is about Drogba and his position in that. Would he stick to it..Well I've been seeing him play pretty deep this season and do a similar thing to Anelka but less. It's like everyone in our team wants to bring others into play and nobody is there waiting in front of goal. How many times have you seen we send in a cross and nobody is there to receive it? Now, with 2 players behind Torres they can buzz in to receive a cross which can make us more dangerous in the box, 3 players in box is better then1 ey? But also these 2 players can return deeper if needed. This is the only formation I could see us playing now while using Both Drogba, Torres and Anelka/Malouda. Slb1989 8
you are all putting david luiz in the right spot but he always played in the left sport of central defenders. terry cant play in the right spot?
Badboy 1,526
We will play 3 forwards..... Malouda Torres and Drogba, Torres will play as a inside right forward making runs in-between the full back and the left back SIMPLE !

I mean they play together for England, but again no matter what we say, our club will play in formation Ancelotti and his coaching stuff pick. pachman40 357
you are all putting david luiz in the right spot but he always played in the left sport of central defenders. terry cant play in the right spot?I'm pretty sure our friend Luiz would have to adapt to Terry as opposed to the old dog learning new tricks. I don't remember, when Luiz played those couple of times with Sidnei, didn't he play right side?
Manuf 1,448
you are all putting david luiz in the right spot but he always played in the left sport of central defenders. terry cant play in the right spot?Do you think adapting to right side would be a problem for him? Because I think it doesn't matter to JT so he could move to right and let Luiz play where he feels best.
pachman40 357
I think Luiz played at left because Luisao was entrenched on the right but to be honest we don't know. It could be that Luiz adapted to the left to accommodate Luisao but it could be his more natural side. Either way Carlo will work that out easily. Slb1989 8
yes he played with sidnei but sidnei play on the right too. our defence was this maxi -luisao -d.luiz -coentrao and when luisao is injured maxi- sidnei -d.luiz- coentrao.i dont know if it is a problem cause i never saw him playing there. he plays with both feet but he played 3 straight years in the left spot mostly because luisao play on the right so he had to adapt. Milan 17,959
Everything is down to the players themselves and Carlo, I believe he can handle this situation. Right, he has some concerns and probably worries about the line-up but hey, what a difference compared to the situation when we were without JT, Lamps, Ess and Drogs. Now he has some nice concerns for a change.
BlueLion. 21,491
Luiz is left-footed so it makes sense for him to play at LCB and for Terry to be moved to RCB.
J.F. 1,484
Luiz can play in every position in defence.
DYC. 7,542
CechIvanovic - Terry - LuizBosingwa - Mikel - Lampard - ColeAnelkaDrogba - TorresKickin' it oldskool.*Bosingwa and Cole as true wingbacks, this way they can attack a lot more since we'll always have Ivan, Luiz, Terry and Mikel at the back. And when facing a dangerous counter-attack from the wings of the opposition, Luiz can drift a little to the left, Ivanovic can drift a little to the right and Mikel then slots next to Terry.*Either Mikel, Ramires or Essien next to Lampard. I prefer Mikel since he's the best passer of the three, has the best technique, can handle being pressured pretty well and him loving to stay in front of the defence will allow Lampard to go forward. Mikel not being the most solid in the defensive department wont be as noticeable with the support of the three defenders.*Anelka linking midfield and attack. We need a 'mover' in that position. Someone who'll roam around, always being available to receive a pass and being able to to keep the ball with him (being hard to dispossess). Anelka is that player. When he does it in his role from the right it's annoying since he leaves a gap there. But in a free role behind the strikers, it can be really effective and he can be very crucial. And as great bonus, when we attack we'll have three absolute lethal players in and around the box.Anelka will have to work on passing the ball quicker, improve his decision-making and one-touch pas a lot more to keep the tempo high. Malouda is also option for the role but I think the role suits Anelka more. Kakuta can play the role too when he comes back. So fierce competition for the role.
