AndersonBLUE 819
Very dissapointed to see our fans reacting like little brats just because it looks like we are set to miss out on Edinson, though it doesn't surprise me at all. It's embarrassing reading the 'if we wanted him, we could have him in a heartbeat' comments towards PSG and the fans of Naples. I only have to mention Neymar in the same argument for people to realize that believe it or not but SW6 isn't the given destination for whom every top player desires to play out their career. It's been a while since we had that ability to out-price all rival bidders and strangle the market with Romans millions. If Cavani wants to join PSG then fuck him, let him join a weaker league. I'm startimg to feel against the big money signings now anyways and i think a lot of people would agree that yes although you do need to sign big players, we also have a very exciting project of youth for future stability underway that we should focus on. If need be then sign a less flashy striker who can score and help grow with Lukaku by hims side in the same squad... Benteke!whatever mate
Jibay 7
@Jibay, Speaking of Alex how has he got on at PSG?Very good season for him. He was very strong with Thiago Silva. Sakho paid the price of Tank's performances. Tomo and DustinC
edenhazard17 281
@Artinho ATM, I have no news about De Rossi at PSG. Our priority is Hernanes. I'll tell you if something changes. If you wanna know, we are on David Luiz (but you know this), Hernanes, Dani Alves (this case depends of Villanova's future) ans Cristiano Ronaldo (this case is manage by the Prince himself, the player has good term with Nasser and the Prince is ready to make an offer that Real can't refuse). It's all I know ATM.Damn, that will cost a hell lot of money. How PSG will avoid the FFP then?

LondonPride1905 236
I can only you on Cavani, IF it is done mate. It's a nice signing. What I don't understand is how will he feature in your system? 2TM's with Ibra and him, could be possible? A part from that I think you should really focus on the back 4 rather than upfront.Mainly on the left back.. but that's my opinion. Cheers Back on topic: Oh God, here are the reactions, we don't need him , because they are pissed we missed out on our man. Stop overreacting and focus on the fact, that we didn't spend 63 mil. on one player. Yes, I loved Cavani and am gutted he was so close to signing for us, but come on, 63 mil?! Looking at that figure, I might as well go sell myself and my notsomuch professional career for 500 k.

DanishBlue 426
I'm so sad that we missed out on Cavani. A lot of us have been following this thread multible times each day for news about this guy coming to us, and now he goes to PSG. And I actually believed that he would come to us. This is Robinho, Neymar and Hulk all over again.I should be old enough not to get my hopes up when we've seen this happen so many times before. Fuck. We won't win anything with our current strikeforce.
Popular Post! YouNameIt 1,511 Posted July 6, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted July 6, 2013 I dont think we missed out on Cavani, I honestly think we didnt want him that bad. If we did, he'd be ours now.The board simply doesnt do business like that anymore. Sad not to get Cavani, but Im really proud and enthustiastic about the way the board is now thinking. semiller1313, different level, The only place to be and 3 others
Severinb 309
And the Palermo president praised the Partenopei for holding firm during negotiations and commanding a colossal fee for the Uruguay international, while revealing specific details regarding transfer negotiations."I have texted De Laurentiis to congratulate him on doing even better than I did [while dealing with PSG]. He has outdone the €43 million that we got for Javier Pastore when we sold him to PSG," the Palermo president told Radio Radio."De Laurentiis had to make this deal. He did well to say that he wanted a transfer fee like this."Cavani is a unique player. He couldn't stay at Napoli because he has to think about his career and PSG are offering him €8m per year."Its over thank fuck

Giving into those fuck wits would have set a precedent that would have ended with clubs putting 80+ million release clauses on any half decent player. They can sell him to PSG and ruin his career. Just goes to show how clubs couldn't give a fuck about a players best interests. different level and Muzchap
Popular Post! Leif 6,006 Posted July 6, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted July 6, 2013 Wanted him more than any striker but at the same time I've been wanting the board to start being more sensible even more. It's not that we 'can't compete with PSG' - that's untrue - we can pay the fee for anyone in the world I believe; but we seem to have shrugged of a lot of our naivety. (By 'our' I mean those who work for the club when it comes to transfer dealings. Further proven with the buy-back clause now inserted into Bruma's contract just incase.)Very happy for Lukaku also. Much easier to get a chance to prove your worth when you don't have a newly bought player with a colossal transfer fee starting ahead of you. My main attraction when it came to Cavani was the fact that he's like a Drogba blueprint - only with a few of his traits actually being better than Drogba's. However, I seemed to forget that there was never and still isn't a guarantee that Jose will revert us to similar tactics he used whilst he was here his first time round. Maybe an all-in-one striker like the Cavani's, Drogba's etc. isn't what's needed for us now. PS: I think the fact that we didn't cave into Napoli's demands is a sign that this talk of a proper 'project' isn't just hot air this time. A potential project could be ruined if too much money is spent on 1 player and they don't quite work out. The Rising Sun 711
Depends what you define giving a chance? If you think giving him a chance is giving him an undisputed number 1 role that he didn't even get at West Brom then no you will have to wait a while for that but Lukaku will get 20-30 (maybe 35-40 depending on how far our cup run goes) appearances at the age of 20 at one of the top clubs in world football, cannot speak for every one else but in my book that is more than getting a chance.By 'chance', i mean - not giving someone else the undisputed No. 1 roleThat is specifically why i did not want a Cavani to come in, as that pretty much makes him the undisputed no. 1 , while Lukaku gets 20 mins here and there in the PL and starts some cup games. Even if he does splendidly, Cavani will still be No. 1.I want us to sign someone who is a top striker, but at the level where he will accept having to fight for a starting spot with the rest of our striking pool week in week out. That in my view is giving Lukaku a fair chance and for us to make fair judgements.
