Steve 10,227
I really hope the club was not stupid enough to fall for Napolis bullshit and pay his release clause. Ridiculous amount of money to be fair. Cracking player but not sure if he's worth that. English Freak

Mouri_Matic 560
Yeah, because Eden was just a random young player who didn't win Player of the Season in Ligue 1 for 2 years in a row or anything, and yet we took a risk with him.. Come on, he was worth every penny!I think Lukaku was a better risk example for a young player.Yes I am saying he is worth it, all I am saying is at the time it was considered a risk to pay that much money for a very young player. And the same can be apply to Cavani, top scorer in Serie A for 2-3 seasons now, at least 30 goals per season for 3 years so why is he a risk like most people are making it out to be? Naaa people was complaining about the price so I used a player who we paid top buck for to back up my point, Lukaku imo is not a risk beccause he cost like £12m and the club can easily ditch him if he turned out to be shit(which he isn't). Risk is like Torres, Sheva...etc the players that we paid massive amount for.
Popular Post! Mouri_Matic 560 Posted June 9, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted June 9, 2013 To all the people who are still showing concern about the money that Cavani will cost, think of it this way:He is in the peak of his career and will only get better, I believe if he stay fit he will have at least 4-5 25+ goal seasons and if he does manage that then £53M IS A BARGAIN.Secondly, he is as good as Falcao(everyone got different opinion but base on the amount of goals scored, he is just as good) and Falcao cost £51m so Cavani can't be far off that.Thirdly, Suarez who everyone(media, other club's fans) think is worth at least £50m, ARE YOU TELLING ME HE IS BETTER THAN CAVANI? Because imo, they are just as good as each other.Fourthly, don't bring up Serie A crap that it is a shit league, maybe it lost its best players over the years but IT IS STILL THE MOST DEFENSIVE LEAGUE IN EUROPE. And lastly, he cost this much BECAUSE HE IS WANTED BY RICHEST CLUBS IN EUROPE(Madrid, us and City) so of course Napoli is going to milk it as much as possible. Also he said he want to go to Madrid if he had to choose and if we are willing to offer £45-£50m then might as well make it £53m(release clause). No point trying to save a few millions then City/Madrid decided fuck it and pay it before us so we lose him like we did with Falcao. If we are gonna go by the logic, then Hazard was overpriced, come on £32m for a 21 years old from Ligue 1 and look how that turned out... SOMETIME YOU HAVE TO TAKE RISK, Cavani's standard price is at least £40-£45m, don't even try to argue because that is the right going rate for him nowaday. So paying £10-£15m more is a bit overpricebut not MASSIVELY OVERPRICED LIKE SOME PEOPLE ARE MAKING IT OUT.RVP 29 years old injury prone-£24m RISKRonaldo even though the best player in the world AT THE TIME AT £80M IS A ENORMOUS RISKOurselves with £32m Hazard-RISKCity with £40m AGUERO-RISKAnd countless more... So just relaxI don't understand people sometime, we go for top players and pay huges sum, complain that they are overpricedgo for old experienced players(De Rossi...etc) and low sum, complain that they are too oldgo for young promising players(Schurrle, Mangala) at decent fee then complain not good enough, overpriced...etcLIFE IS NOT PERFECT, We are not going to get Cavani for £30m, Schurrle for £10m or whatever prices ''You'' think they are worth, it is up to the club to decide. Many people I see are obsessed over young players the club have(Lukaku, De Bruyn) so what if they are sold/loan?Are you telling me you are willing to have Lukaku OVER CAVANI? He is a promising player, but that doesn't mean anything. This place is for the best players only, if young players think they are good enough for the club then let them fight for their place with top class players. Here is my post again for people who are still doubting Cavani or share concerns over his price tag Peace., Rambo, Peppen and 2 others
