Is the situation really different than the Marseille game? Don't remember any reacting back then, except Ferreira at LB there wasn't much criticism.

Sure Marseille are much stronger than Ipswich but that game had no importance AT ALL while this one is IMO our only chance of finishing the season with silverware.

From the injury talk it sounded like Ancelotti considered starting Essien, A. Cole and Drogba. A final decision will be taken when they train on Saturday.

Here we go again..

:shoot:

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised at all... And btw, who would be surprised ?

There was quite a few questions raised for that game too. However 6 games on and the excuse of playing players into form is pointless. Even if he did play a full strength team and we won, how much confidence would a full strength team gain from beating Ipswich? And how much of a disaster would it be if that same team was to LOSE to Ipswich?

The players who have not been played i.e Sturridge, Kakuta, Bruma Van Aanholt and Josh McEachran fully deserve a chance to show that they can do what the established players have not done and that is put a performance in.

After the reserves trounced yids -be good to play some of them.

This cup becomes important now, if only for a hatrick of wins. Any other team won 3 on the bounce ?

Wanders FC (now defunct) did. The last team to do it was Blackburn, who completed their treble in 1896... so we'd be the first in 115 years.

Kind of expect him to play this "strongest team" to be honest. Like it was mentioned before, this is our final chance for silver wear. I should think he'll play some youth though, Sturridge & Kakuta perhaps. Wouldn't surprise me otherwise though.

Drogba thinks he's KING DING-ALING-and, can just run around pretending to be hurt so he can have allll the atention in the world. Then poo000ff out of no where he's up again and at full pelt. TBH I think Drogba is loosing his marbles :woo: He just seems to be Far to Chilled and thinks... fuck it im 30 odd give me a break!

Drogba HAS to be played up alongside Sturridge in a 442, so then Drogs can wake up and see how slow and lazy he's been. Sturridge is rather GAS and Drogba needs competition so he fights for his place cause at the moment he just assumes he's playn.

Im Didear Drogbaaaa Maaaaan!

Last season when we played em, we just had some nice free kick practice but were totally unconvincing winning 3-1. On Sunday, i hope we give em a wasting to get the goals flowing and the confidence up. It only takes a confidence boosting win, weak opposition or not, to get the season going again.

5-0

We got a morale boosting draw against spurs and Carlo said it was the end of the bad moment. Then he says we'll beat Wolves but again another bad moment. I wouldn't take a win for granted and a big win won't mean we've arrived out of our bad moment. We beat Fulham and Bolton (just) but 2 months later this bad moment is not ending.

But we didn't deserve to beat Fulham or Bolton, they were nothing to get any kind of confidence up. Those wins papered over cracks for just a few days. We need to win soon with a good performance and scoring a few goals and i don't care if it's Ipswich. Ipswich are quite awful tbh, sacked Keane earlier this week and we have the chance to score goals tomorrow but more importantly, play with some style and regain confidence, We can play football ya know. Bout time we showed it by stuffing the farmers.
