Can we play with some players from the reserves team?Good last match for them. They win against Spurs and Stu scored 5 times ^_^ If we can play with some players from the reserves I want to see that team:

Turnbull

Billy Clifford - Bruma - Chalobah - PvA

Conor Clifford - Ramires - McEachran

Kakuta - Stu - Lalkovic

Sorry for my mistake if some players are on loan somewhere.

Given the abject performances of a lot of our team we should seriously shake things up for this game and allow some of our fringe/young players the chance to show what they can do. My team would be:

.................................................................Cech..........................................................

Ivanovic.......................Bruma...................................Terry..................Van Aanholt

..............................................................Ramires.......................................................

.............................Lampard........................................McEachran...........................

...Kakuta..............................................Sturridge........................................Tore......

For me this would be the team i would field. It plays our form players Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Ramires and Lampard who needs the games given us a strong feel to the team. Bruma to partner JT, no problem at all for this game. Van Aanholt has been excellent when played this season and massively unfortunate to have not got more games. Josh playing behind the forward to influence the game in the attacking areas. And the forward line with Sturridge in his best position, Kakuta out wide and i would honestly give Gokhan Tore a game because his form for the reserves has been good, he has got some goals and all of our forward line have been piss poor and someone else deserves to be given the chance to show what they can do in this game.

Bench: Turnbull, B.Clifford, Essien, Malouda, Kalou, Drogba, Anelka

Don't think Cech will play this one, probably be Turnbull or Hilario. Don't really know which is worse.

On lighter news, you've got to love how Chelsea felt inclined to report Roy Keane's sacking on the official website

I think you are probably right about Cech, but i don't see the point in resting a keeper unless you are wanting to give games to a keeper who you want to push the first choice keeper and lets be honest, Turnbull and Hilario are not going to be pushing Cech...

Very good team. I would also put Conor on the bench. Maybe start with Malouda to add a bit of experience. Then bring Tore at ht or later.

If Ancelotti plays his strongest (and by that i mean the most experienced) side for Sunday then he will certainly go down in my estimation. Oppertunities need to be given to other players because we are getting nothing from the "pros" who are getting played week in week out no matter how they perform.

I agree with that. That is why i don't want Drogba and Essien to start. Out of front three Malouda is the only one who tries, thoug i was criticizing Malouda lately imo he should start to bring a bit of experience in the front three.

And if he plays good it could do good for his confidence. Then bring Tore for him. Conor deserves some minutes too.

Is the situation really different than the Marseille game? Don't remember any reacting back then, except Ferreira at LB there wasn't much criticism.

Sure Marseille are much stronger than Ipswich but that game had no importance AT ALL while this one is IMO our only chance of finishing the season with silverware.

From the injury talk it sounded like Ancelotti considered starting Essien, A. Cole and Drogba. A final decision will be taken when they train on Saturday.

Here we go again..

:shoot:

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised at all... And btw, who would be surprised ?

There was quite a few questions raised for that game too. However 6 games on and the excuse of playing players into form is pointless. Even if he did play a full strength team and we won, how much confidence would a full strength team gain from beating Ipswich? And how much of a disaster would it be if that same team was to LOSE to Ipswich?

The players who have not been played i.e Sturridge, Kakuta, Bruma Van Aanholt and Josh McEachran fully deserve a chance to show that they can do what the established players have not done and that is put a performance in.

After the reserves trounced yids -be good to play some of them.

This cup becomes important now, if only for a hatrick of wins. Any other team won 3 on the bounce ?

Wanders FC (now defunct) did. The last team to do it was Blackburn, who completed their treble in 1896... so we'd be the first in 115 years.
