Chelsea are in the running to sign Portuguese sensation Joao Reis.

The 18-year-old has been dubbed the new Luis Figo following a number of scintillating performances for Louletano in the Portuguese second division.

The winger is only on a semi-professional contract in his native Portugal and reports in sports newspaper A Bola say the Premier League champions are keen to take the youngster on a week-long trial.

Inter Milan and Benfica are also said to have scouts monitoring the youngster's progress in Portugal's third tier.

Reis could follow in the footsteps of countrymen and fellow wingers Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo if he completes a move to the Premier League.
