We Hate Scouse 10,326
Are you sure that Zola wants to work with a man who kicked him out of Parma? That was 14 years ago...I'm sure they've settled there difference since then.
wisey11zola25 142
Ray Wilkins, true legend, good luck to him, can't see why this decision has been made at this time of the season?!Wisey or Franco in, not interested in Maldini, we need a true Chelsea man through and through, to fill the huge shoes of Ray...Just gotta hope this doesn't cause troubles within the team, cos Ray was a real firend and role model to all the players
BLionheart 516
very shocked !!!!!! but i think that might not be as bad as it looks if steve clark , zola or maldini steps in .......although i know most probably it will be a nobody as someone has mentioned before
Rambo 1,729
I don't see why he couldn't have stayed, I thought he had an excellent relationship with the club along with Carlo.
BRMC 12
I remember seeing a while back that Wilkins will join Capello and today that looks to have happened. After the world cup the FA said they wanted to bring another englishman in as coach and rumour had it he was the man for the job i never thought he would leave us though as he was doing well. Also Dennis Wise turned down a managers job recently and it was said hes waiting for the asistent managers job at Chelsea. Badboy 1,526
Oh fuck i don't understand everything was going so good and dandy, we had a former Chelsea player who speaks Italian and is calm as fuck as assistant manager.
ZanSnake 1,211
Wow. Just fucking shocked. An absolute gentlemen and a Chelsea legend. I just hope Chelsea hire someone who is also loving towards the club, Zola, Clarke.I have to say, thank you Ray for all the hard work he has done, and he will always be a legend no matter what. I hope he becomes a manager somewhere and finds success. He fully deserves it.
BlueLion. 21,491
Shocking decision to do it now as opposed to the summer! Gourlay is an utter pillock, even if there was some sort of fall-out why not wait till the end of the season based on football grounds? Cock! diskoviolente 425
If there are reasons to let Ray go, fair enough. But there is something in the way how to deal with the kind of problems at Chelsea. Letting him go immidiatly and with no statements towards that ? I don´t know, but it makes the club look like the villain, i cannot put my finger on it, but i think we´ve had these situations before. I loved Wisey as a player BUT PLEASE NO as assistant manager. i do think it is possible that Ray has something new lined up ...As for us Id liketo see Zola back
EskWeston 696
As always we will never know what really happened here. But for sure it isn't the way it should have been done if you ask me, and it will not make the club look good at all. I can understand maybe the club wanting to upgrade the Assistant Manager role but this is not the way it should have been done. Ray was sitting with Carlo watching the reserve game and then 10 minutes into the second half they confirm he is leaving....
Badboy 1,526
The thing is ray is so calm i cant even see a scenario in were he pisses someone off.
EskWeston 696
The thing is ray is so calm i cant even see a scenario in were he pisses someone off.I doubt it is anything to do with a fallout. The club probably made a descision to not renew Rays contract and bring in a better level of assistant manager and Ray may well have decided to just leave now rather than sit it out...At the end of the day it is all speculation and we probably will never know the truth of it. Laylabelle 9,534
Love how the media/press love to cause trouble. One paper, apprantly Carlo knew he was getting the flick,Radio he didnt know.Doubt he did to be honest.Bizare decison.Guess never know the reason behind it.but yeh timing is bizare but guess thats the bussiness these days. They sack mananagers at the most random times so no surpriseJust hope we dont get effected by it on the field
Fulham Broadway 17,311
Bad week all in all down SW6 way -JTs old man, SENs red, Frank too fat to play because hes been on the pies, or Chrsitine Bleakleys bitten his knob (what with all those teeth), and now uncle Ray.Watched him play as a lad, sorted his brothers (Grahame) tax affairs out. (He was a probably one of CFCs worst players by the way), but Ray, something else, becoming a real diplomat with th emedia as well. God knows what's going on behind the scenes, but above all else the timimg is fucking awful...

LDN Blue 7,903
I think ray was the best assistant manager for us at this time.Hard to say really. I mean we didn't know his actual role, if you get me? But I take nothing away from him a fantastic man, the players and manager obviously loved him! I hope he gets a job as a #1 manager at another football club, or assistant to Capello maybe.
