LDN Blue 7,903
I hate the timing of this so much!! That's the day I finish college at 17:15, so I won't be home by 18:15!! I hate that I'll miss the first half
Madmax 9,219
Don't think Kakuta deserves a chance for this one. Carlo has said Kalou will defo be back for this so I'm expecting us to line up as -Flo-Nico-KalouAlternatively, could use Flo instead of R7 and Zhirkov on the wing. Peace. 4,352
Don't think Kakuta deserves a chance for this one. Carlo has said Kalou will defo be back for this so I'm expecting up to line up as -Flo-Nico-KalouAt the start of the season, i would never have imagined to say that, but me too i would like Kalou instead Gaël lol...But i would rather see Kalou switched with Anelka... chrismada9 1,948
tough game this one, particularly when it's in Russia, far away from Home. Last Game against a Russian side in Russia: CSKA Moscow 0-1 Chelsea (Robben) .... that's ommitting the Railways Cup back in 2008
LDN Blue 7,903
This whole "artificial pitch" issue will no doubt, come back again. ManUtd struggled on it last year against CSKA Moscow. Hopefully we can use Zhirkov's experience on them to our advantage, I see him starting that one tbh.
BlueLion. 21,491
I hope we see this team:Petr CechFerreira, Terry, Ivanovic, ColeMikelEssien, RamiresMalouda, Anelka, ZhirkovThe front three did nothing until Zhirkov came on at Villa Park on Saturday, whilst we will need the pace of that midfield three in what will be a very fast-tempo match. I'd like to see Bosingwa get another half-an-hour and for van Aanholt to get some playing time as well. I'd love it if Kalou was fit because we've missed him! Gianfranco_Z 202
I'd like to see Bosingwa get a half in for this one... and Zhirkov to start! I think 1-1 though, We always have a dodgy away game in the CL and I reckon with the plastic pitch and away in Russia this will be it...
Rubber bullets 1,183
I don't think Bosingwa is travelling with the squad.
Milan 17,958
Right, Boz won't be included because of the pitch. According to Carlo, it wouldn't be the best thing for him.
Peace. 4,352
I'd like to see this team on the pitch, if Sturridge is fit :CechFerreira - Iva - Terry - AshMikelEssien - RamiresMalouda - Sturridge - Zhirkovsub : GK - PVA - McEachran - Kakuta - Anelka - Borini (or Bruma if he's fit) - MellisI would give Bossingwa another rest, for now we should just play him in England.I would give Kakuta twenty five minutes, just to see what he can do...And another ten (or more) minutes for Josh. ZanSnake 1,211
Would like to see Borini have a run around, about time he should get a chance in the first team, even for 30 mins. Would love to see McEarhan start and/or Bruma as well.Getting a good vibe from this game, possibly 3-0 or 2-0 i think.
Madmax 9,219
Borini isn't going to get a run around away from home in Europe while qualification still has not been secured.

If Carlo's learnt anything from Saturday it must be that Zhirkov plays at his best when put on the left-wing, not central mid! The wing is his natural position, CA must've seen his impact there vs Villa.
Cameron 30
I agree. But Carlo doesn't have much choice. Edited October 17, 2010 by Cameron
Madmax 9,219
Yuri - Anelka - KalouFlo-Mikel-EssienThat would be a good lineup, although it is a bit harsh on Ramires especially after his past two performances against Arsenal and Villa. Essien had a bad one against Villa but doubt Carlo would drop him in an away game in Europe. Mikel on current form is undroppable. I'm sure Carlo will start Yuri because of his experience in Russia. That leaves out Ramires.
DYC. 7,542
''Chelsea plan to rest Michael Essien for tomorrow's Champions League tie away to Spartak Moscow''http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/8070120/Chelsea-must-show-some-backbone-following-goalless-draw-away-to-Aston-Villa.html''Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Aston Villa and Michael Essien will be rested in Russia.''http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1321391/Chelseas-talented-kids-set-thrown-firing-line-injuries-toll.html#ixzz12hr7YZzZDon't know if it's true but both sources claim Michael will be rested. We have to win this game so it's better if we field our strongest team. Winning tomorrow and beating them at home will secure us qualification and rest our (key-) players in the last two group matches. Also giving our youngsters the posibility to play CL matches
