That's hardly racist  It's race-related, but not racist... there's a difference. Racism is prejudice against certain ethnicities and cultures... he's simply pointing out (something of a fallacy in all seriousness) that there are few black German peoples - I acting did some research into this for a Geography/Demographics task and found out there's quite a large proportion of blacks-to-whites in Germany in comparison to other European nations...

Chelsea have signed 11-year-old Northampton Town striker Michael Gyasi for an undisclosed fee.

Gyasi plays for the Under-11s and has been with the club's centre of excellence for the last three years.

The switch includes a variety of add-ons, which are subject to particular targets being met.

Northampton centre of excellence boss Trevor Gould said: 'Financially the deal is good for us, and the money we will receive will aid our youth development.'

'While we obviously want to produce and keep our best players, when a Premier League club like Chelsea come knocking, as long as the deal is right for the club, we will never stand in a boy's way.

'Not only is this is a superb opportunity for Michael but it reinforces the quality of player we are bringing both into the club and through our centre of excellence.'

We "sign" kids this age all the time, just rarely gets any press as parents and clubs usually keep quiet about it. So, he's probably a bit bigger or faster than the other kids that age and he sticks out a bit, especially in Northampton. The amounts talked about here are the same every club pays to another academy to compensate for its development efforts over the years. Kaby was a wonderkid, Michael Woods, Tom Taiwao, Scott Sinclair and they were bought years later for millions. All big clubs sift through as much talent for as little as they can get it and hope to find a diamond. What I'm impressed about with the Chels is that we do seem to look after our own and make sure kids who don't make it find somewhere, Ryan Bertrand case in point from his nice commenst about the club letting him train to keep fit while he was looking for a club. Sorry, gone off on a tangent there!

Well said, all very true...

Aparently the kid is a striker which we always seem a little short on, players who can play the lone striker role in a 4-3-3, with Mitrovic and Prosenik injured the youths are lacking there... Lets hope the club can develop this talent, yes this is very unusual to have this made public because it does happen all the time at this age.

is mad to think that the year Jack Cork joined the club, was the year this kid was born..and well Jack is still waiting for his breakthrough with us.

food for thought.

good luck to the kid though..is getting himself into something where the success rate is very low at this level...though i guess even if you don`t make it at a top club like ours...you will end up with another chance at another club.

also, hope he has good nurturing parent/s too..who will look after him properly when he`s away from CFC..and not treat their 11 year old boy like a cash cow.
