The impeccable pitches of Cobham will host their first action of the pre-season this afternoon (Monday) when training begins.

With the summer break over, all the members of the squad apart from those who took part in the Confederations Cup are now back at Cobham, where Jose Mourinho held his first team meeting at lunchtime and standard medical assessments are taking place.

Andre Schurrle, Marco van Ginkel and Wallace, who signed in January before immediately being loaned back to former club Fluminense until the end of last season, are busy meeting new team mates.

It will be late in the afternoon when the manager and players begin their preparations out in the July sun, and then there will be double training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday before the squad flies to Thailand on Thursday to begin the two-week Here to Play Here to Stay tour of Asia, which will also visit Malaysia and Indonesia.

They always show maybe 30 seconds of footage, maybe a bit more today but nothing substantial that you need to tune in for I would have thought.

Is it too hard, too expensive to have good images of training sessions and at least some of José's apparences with the training shirt ? I mean when I see Manchester City youtube's channel its for me the perfect channel for your club, here we are battling to have a pixel of JM , is it a strategy ?

Have you seen City's website? It makes ours look like some kind of amateurish high school project. Their communication/social media strategy is fantastic. It was hours before a pic of Mourinho surfaced on the Chelsea official twitter, by then City's timeline was filled with many pics and videos of their players arriving to training. A lot of supporters have been waiting for this day for years, how hard is it tweet some damn pictures?
