Well my family wants to buy a new camera, the budget is around 800$.

I've been studying Lightroom, long exposures, lightning and stuff.. So I really want a DLSR (been thinking of the T2i), but it doesn't really matter for my parents since they only want big zoom and reasonable quality.

I know I can buy a lens with big zoom for the DSLR but it costs a lot doesn't it? and plus its huge and not comfortable to carry around (and my parents only want something easy to use, easy to carry while they're on vacations ...)

What do I do? I really want a quality camera but my parents really want their damn zoom.

She's a relatively old member here. Her user name used to be Zashko or something like that. She used to be much more active around here before you joined, especially in the general chat area. I guess it goes without saying, but she's very interesting and unique.

Thats crap ....

I shoot Nikon, so dont know my way around canon lenses.

Id maybe combine the T2 with an 18-200. Problem: it is 699 dollars. Also how much zoom and for what? I rarely go over 300.

Do yourself a favour and buy the nifty fifty. Learn with that. On a DSLR with GOOD glass .... Dont go any other way.
