The Skipper 20,609
Haha. People scream for player loyalty but when it comes the other way around it goes out of the window. Double standards. Wouldn't sell Ramires at all.

Double standards.Wouldn't sell Ramires at all.Player loyalty is not a problem at Chelsea now. In the Abramovich era, maybe only Robben left Chelsea to better his career. If Ramires is paper-weight in a deal for a Napoli player or if Napoli are offering a lot of money, why not cash in and re-invest?

Special Juan 28,141
I like Ramires a lot but the problem with him I have is his basic control and passing is awful. He plays in an area where this is massively crucial, and it's alright having all that energy and pace but if you haven't got the basics then they may as well be void. TorontoChelsea 4,064
Ramires is a perfect squad player. He can passably play a number of positions, has fantastic stamina, always defends, and does things other players can't. Unlike most of our team, he doesn't need the ball to be effective because his speed opens things up and he would even be a fantastic starter in certain formations. Playing in this same formation, he's not an ideal starter, no. Amblève.

He was let go by Chelsea due to his injuries and inconsistencies. Not the other way round.Thats just not the Russian Style. Its difficult getting in, and more so getting out .. That is open to interpretation but my point was Robben was probably the only Chelsea players in last few years who left the club to join another 'big' club in his primeRamires is a perfect squad player. But if the club arranges a cash plus player deal or signs a DM in replacement, I won't complain

Despiadado.Maleante 1,046
Passing and finishing can/has be improved. Traurs like stamina and speed come naturally and ramires is one of the best in that category

And Mourinho would love his energy and pace in counter attacking situations, something of course Mourinho's teams tend to be good at. The only place to be 11,313
I like Ramires a lot but the problem with him I have is his basic control and passing is awful. He plays in an area where this is massively crucial, and it's alright having all that energy and pace but if you haven't got the basics then they may as well be void. He's also playing in a position where we've got three up-and-comers in Romeu, Chalobah and Ake who all arguably have a better skill set for that position (RLC is further down the line too). If the money is on the table now, it has to be considered.People saying about his ability to break with the ball, and that's a nice ability to have but look at our first goal against Everton on Sunday. That started with someone playing in Rami's position picking the ball up in our own area. Now Rami might've been able to run it out of defence, but this player (Ake in this case) passed it out of defence, initiating a counter-attack that resulted in a goal.Rami's problem isn't that he doesn't have the basics, but that he's inconsistent. When he gets the ball in matches, sometimes you don't know if it's going to bobble off his shin or be a crisp, perfectly measured pass. It's a shame that his touch isn't as consistent as his commitment to the cause which is second to none. BlueLion.
Popular Post! Tomo 21,751 Posted June 20, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted June 20, 2013 Ramires is in the clouds with the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Chelsea. If the enthusiasm of the Brazilian midfielder was already great, was greater with the Portuguese coach's praise in a recent telephone conversation. «I'm a huge expectation to get to work with Mourinho. He called me one of these days, I was even surprised. We talked a lot and he told me nice things, including who requested my contract when he was at Inter and Real Madrid. He told me he was happy to have me at Chelsea, "said the former Benfica player, in statements to Globoesporte . In conversation he had with former Benfica player, Mourinho realized the desire to return to London by the team win titles. "I was very glad to hear it and told him he can count on me, I'll do everything in my power to help you be victorious in this new pass him by the club. He was a good expectation and knowing that his willingness to work with me, made me even more motivated. I have a feeling that will be a very good season for us, "confided.http://www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx?id=409790 DJames, Bosnian Blue, sainttourist and 5 others

Jase 43,479
Ramires will basically be like what Essien was to us, before his injuries, under Mourinho. No surprises to see Mourinho likes him. Im happy for Rami, he deserves the credit for his great seasons with us.Next to Oscar. In the front 2 of a 3 man midfield or playing in a 4-3-1-2. The players linking up play between the fullback and the "wingers".They have the engine to do that and offers flexibility in the tactics, playing narrower or wider, switching the formation reacting on what the opposition is doing. You always need a willing runner and someone with loads of engine in the team like Ramires.Essien before his injuries was miles better than Ramires. He was much stronger, had a good amount of technical ability (something Ramires sorely lacks), and had a beast of a shot. Not to mention his football IQ was quite a bit better. However, I see why you would make that comparison. In a way, they're quite similar players (skill aside).
