LDN Blue 7,903
So now everyone's calling us a joke because the Hazard deal seems to be getting "done" quicker than securing RdM. Can't help but slightly agree, this is appalling

KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
I wonder which Barça players would follow Pep. Thiago, Perdo, Busquets and Cuenca would be my guess.Another great reason why he would be a good apointment. I think some are not giving Pep's intelligence any credit. Surely he knows we can't play 'exactly' like Barcelona do. In fact, just about no-one can. I don't think he will try stuff like turning Mikel into a CB or playing only 3 defenders. He will adapt his game to the EPL and have us playing good attacking sexy football without compromising our defense (surely he also saw AVB fail). I would love him here and that no pressure for 2 years might be exactly what Pep needs to build a dynasty.

Kostas 1,468
To be fair League form was in shambles when he took over anyway and was pretty much a case of hope that other teams drop points. And considering with Carlo we finished 2nd and he still got sacked..pretty much have to win it every year to be in with a chance! It's the relative league form that is judged rather than the absolute. We finished with just 9 points less this season (having effectively fielded a 2nd team in the last 2 games) but nowhere near the top 4 nevermind the 2nd place.I don't understand Roman at all.He sacked 7 or 8 managers because they didn't win the Champions League and now he's planning to part ways with the man who did win it. He's sticking to the tactics that made Chelsea successful

Swedish House Mafia 508
RDM Shouldn't get the job. There's a reason that he won us 2 cups, but there's a reason why he got sacked by WBA and wasn't hired by anyone until AVB got him. I don't know, I just don't feel that confident with him. We won the Champions league because of Cech, Drogba and Lady luck. If Barca had scored just one of their 38268 chances at Stamford Bridge then I'm 100% sure RDM wouldn't know how to turn it around. He is also very close with Terry and Lampard, which is a bad thing. Terry and Lampard need to be shifted out but we can't do that with RDM as coach.Bring in Pep. Badboy 1,526
Zolayes the problem is that RDM clearly deserves a full season as our manager and it looks like he might not get it. Managers never seem to get what they deserve at this club, we just keep changing and it's really annoying.
Clevemayer 764
I agree with SHM robbie has done tremendous work and he did recognize we need to play 4-2-21-1 kudos to him for that, but he is no longtermsolution for me. Luiz told the press he still belives AVB is a great coach and that they did built the success on AVBs work, and I can see this being true.Robbie just used what AVB did not, this was communication with the old guard and gett'n them motivated. I think AVB tried to motivate Lamps and Torres at the beginning and some others to try different things (lamps was instilled by AVB as DM in the first place and he stated straight away he was unhappy but would do what the manager wanted from him, as long as its not an permanent solution, but why did he do this for RDM is the question and why didn't he play with AVB this role?) but they haven't been happy with that.Credit to RDM for doing what he did, but as I've seen it he wouldn't get us to the next level, and this hurts to say after you see us lifting the trophys under him. He did come in and just talked to the players and made clear, guys this is you're last chance so forget you're egos and just stick together, thats what AVB did fail with, he did throw Lamps into the DM role and Torres on the wing and told them, try to play there you can do it, but he didn't explain to them, Lamps you're gett'n old you don't have that explosiveness but you're still ma main man and Torres we have no right winger but you are fast and have some great skills, our only chance ist to counterattack, for this we need Drogba as loneman and you or studge as Winger as it stands... this was AVBs failure... he had the right ideas but couldn't communicate it to the players.but I also guess Pepp's success was unique and can't be redone here, and vor everyone calling AVB a Asshole, you are all wanker, he was young and failed to communicate, but I would take him again on board in an blink of an eye, he took the right steps and I can remember us screwing the shit out of ManU with his somehow weired tactics at the first view and than our players failure to secure us a 3:0 win at home, then loosing to ManU with three horrible decisions of the referees albeit we should have won, and he was brave enough to put ramy and Moreorless to the rightwing... There was a reason why david luiz, mata and Moreorless still say they owe him much...

Strike 7,492
di Matteo deserves it. he has shown a very attacking philosophy - mk dons and west brom - and more importantly he has a connection with the players while at the same time, he knows that it is time for change. abramovich may be calling the shots on the transfers but di matteo has dropped essien completely, used the seniors lesser as the season entered the business end and gave a chance to bertrand, lukaku. he is definitely the man

BleedsBlue 1,549
Maybe its best for both parties if RDM doesn't take the job.Roman will appoint Pep sooner or later and since there is no job security for RDM,its best if he moves on to a club which will respect him and offer some managerial longevity.Mind you,the young Italian won't be short of any suitors and I wish him all the very best.A complete all round Chelsea legend.Long live Roberto Di Matteo! Deserves to be somewhere where he wont be looking over his shoulder after a bad run and is treated with respect
