EskWeston 696
Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne insists he is ready to bide his time in order to break into new boss Carlo Ancelotti’s side. The England Under-21 international enjoyed a successful loan spell at Wolves last season, but after returning to Chelsea in December he found his route to the first team blocked. The 21-year-old has not ruled out the possibility of going out on loan again in order to play regular football, but says his priority is on impressing in pre-season. “I just want to take it as it comes and to try and break into the Chelsea team,” he said. “If I don’t then I’ll have to see what happens from there. “I have world class international players in front of me, so I just have to be patient and bide my time because I don’t think you can break into the side at a young age. “I would like to see what happens in pre-season, I just want to impress.” Mancienne grabbed his first England goal on Monday night in the Under-21s 7-0 demolition of Azerbaijan in their final warm-up before jetting off to the European Championships in Sweden. The defender believes the tournament will give him the ideal platform on which to showcase his talents and impress new boss Ancelotti. “We have a pretty good chance at this tournament,” he added. “We have a strong side so we should do well and I’m confident. “I want to play well in this tournament no matter what, even if there wasn’t a new manager, but having a new boss means I obviously have to impress him. So it’s important I do well.” Source: Setanta Sports

BlueLion. 21,491
Reckon he could be a fantastic defender tbh, he's certainly made of the right stuff. Reminds me of Nesta, in terms of his defending.
Elliott 7
Great news to see Mancienne willing to stick it out, but lets not make him wait too long.

Mancienne is very similar to nesta he reads the game like nesta and he is good on the ball.

Steve 10,227
I think if we make him wait around too long he will want to leave, because he is only young and he is finally getting that break that every young player wants. So lets try and mould him into the squad over the next couple of seasons.
warnie_666 1,081
He is only 21, he needs to bide his time, may be he will be regular by the time he is 24-25.
EskWeston 696
As everyone has said i do hope the club keep him around next season and give him enough games to be happy and to also progress his career. He is an excellant centre back and perfect partner for someone like JT or Alex, a fast reader of the game.
