Apparently its official we offered 8 million euros and Pizarro. They have rejected it but are clearly looking to do the deal for more money. I guess we'll end up signing him for some stupid number. Poor Mikel.

Seriously when it comes to summer transfers lately, we are a fucking joke!

All we're ever interested in is old men and has beens. Never any good players in their prime!! Seriously, if we sign Pirlo and let Sneijder pass, I will be fucking pissed off!!

AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani says Chelsea's offer for Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo is too low for them to consider.

Pirlo, 30, is being pursued by Chelsea, who have reportedly offered about £6.75m plus striker Claudio Pizarro.

"At this price Pirlo is not for sale," Galliani told Italy's Sky television."

Meanwhile, a Salomon Kalou goal and an Alex Pearce own goal earned Chelsea a 2-2 draw at Reading after they had been 2-0 down with a minute left to play.

Carlo Ancelotti fielded a strong Blues side for their final pre-season match, but the new Chelsea coach is keen to bring in Pirlo, who he convinced to join AC from Milan rivals Inter in 2001, to his squad.

Still not sure if I want this deal to happen or not, but losing Pizarro is a plus I think - throw in Sheva too!

Pirlo is a dead-ball specialist who has helped Milan win one Serie A title and two Champions League crowns. The playmaker was also in Italy's 2006 World Cup winning squad.

If Ancelotti gets his man, Pirlo will become the club's fourth signing of the summer, following Yuri Zhirkov, Daniel Sturridge and Ross Turnbull to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Milan have joined Tottenham in expressing their interest in Real Madrid striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutchman had been set for a move to German side Stuttgart last week but that fell through due to his wage demands.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp said last week that he was interested in the 25-year-old striker, although any move for Huntelaar would be dependant on Darren Bent's transfer to Sunderland going through.

I agree with you.

I would rather have Sneijder in, instead of a 30 year old who will be over-priced.

At least Wesley is younger and can be played in midfield and as a back-up striker incase we need more attaking options in a game.

Also, looks like Chelsea are trying to get rid of Pizzaro, guess that's a good sign for Sturridge and Di Santo (if the whole loan deal isn't gone through yet).

Andrea Pirlo, Italy's World Cup-winning midfielder, is set to rejoin Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea in the next few days.

AC Milan are prepared to accept an offer of £10million for Pirlo if they can take striker Claudio Pizarro in the opposite direction.

The Italians have been trying to hold out for £14m for Pirlo, although they are expected to lower their price tomorrow to set the transfer in motion.

All parties are confident a deal can be done because the 30-year-old is very keen on the move and personal terms have already been agreed.

Ancelotti wants Pirlo, who helped him win the Champions League twice at AC Milan, to bring stability and technical excellence to his first Premier League campaign.

I wouldnt mind him if we signed him for 12-15mill, and give him a 3 year contract, his age of 30 has no importance, may i remind you a certain italian Chelsea legend (zola) joined us when he was 30 aswell. With the ACN ,and our rather unchanged sqaud, adding Pirlo to the mix is not a bad idea. Our team is very predictable, we have had the same core players for a while now, adding Pirlo will not harm us. He can fill in for essien and mikel during the ACN, and Ancelotti will spur him on.

Well, we have a habit of signing them, Vialli, Desailly, Gullit, Zola, Makalele, Ballack, Deco, Sheva and now Pirlo

If we lose Essien and Mikel to ACN, we have Ballack, Joe Cole, Belleti, Mancienne, Zirkov, Malouda for cover. Buying Players who have passed their peaks for big sums just doesnt make any sense.

Id have prefered a Striker since we are planning to loan Santo and Drogba and Kalou would be gone for ACN.
