Didn't think the Everton result was too bad but the performances against Fulham and Ipswich have been really, really poor.

I think what was most concerning, besides Disasi lasting as long as he did tonight, was how we created absolutely nothing after going 2 down. The goals have dried up and unfortunately we just aren't good enough defensively.

This is where the manager earns his living...

Every single one of our attackers has gone completely off the boil simultaneously. Madueke started the season on fire and has been woeful for the most part since his supposed “coming out party” against Wolves with that hat trick. Sancho was really solid his first handful of matches but has now retreated into his shell. Neto tries hard at least but hasn’t been effective. Even Palmer has only really shown small flashes of quality during this shit run.

Just annoying all this oooo chance to go 2nd oh no we'll stay in 4th with the others not far behind.

Performances have been worrying. We always have this annoying blip of players being crap together and it's when other teams around and behind get their act together and start winning.

Feel aggrieved for our fans going all that way for sub par performances

Absolutely. You never forget the days when you travel far to give your support and the players just amble around half heartedly.

I still have nightmares about an away day to Wigan in 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8269672.stm featuring prime Drogba, Lampard and co - and we lost 3-1 to a shitty Wigan team featuring Titus fucking Bramble. Never went to Wigan again after that - fuck Wigan.

That's what annoys when the players are just mehhh yet the fans make the effort. And have gone all that way and paid all that money and yet they just don't look like they care that much and they come away with a stupid wage

This happened in our highest ever scoring season too. That season though, we would bounce back quickly from disappointing results, as title winning sides should.

We're not in a title race, but we so need to win our next game.

I don't think this young team and inexperienced manager has the acumen to rescue itself if the winless streak continues.

That team had national captains or highly experienced individuals littered through the squad, what a few years that was. Think that's why I enjoy the podcast era so much now with Obi etc because you start to get the stories and what each person was like whereas we as fans only know their media trained interview/on pitch persona.

The old days...lifetime ago! 'Unbeaten since March' how times have changed

Nah not in a title race but in a top 4 race which we'll make harder for ourselves if keep dropping points. Newcastle only 3 behind and yet City are somehow only 4 behind! Arsenal still to play but can 4 clear and Forest also above.

This is what we should expect when players aren't available at CB and in midfield.

Feel like people forget that Fulham let Tosin go on a free transfer and he's our starting CB right now and playing Disasi is like giving the opposition an extra player.

It's a shame that Lavia got injured again as he could have helped keep Caicedo/Enzo fresh in this run of games.

We miss that spark! We have players who sometimes spark but when they're off their form their off off. No one is consistant atm. That's why we're far from title challenges and need to get that back

It's not a spark, not one of our attackers tried to take on their backline.  We just kept recycling possession for 5 minutes, then give it to Palmer or Enzo and hope something would happen.

Every time they won the ball off us, it was simple, get the ball forward as quick as possible and find Delap.

The reason why we lost was because our players were complacent, sort of expecting Ipswich to make errors.

The most annoying thing about that game is that Ipswich did basically NOTHING as a team and won 2-0. Just Delap running around like a maniac by himself and bullying our CB’s single-handedly. They didn’t pass it around and press us like Fulham did, they didn’t smack in a hundred crosses and threaten from corners, they didn’t destroy us on the counter. They seriously just had 1 single striker running and hoping for a mistake from our defense and waiting to pounce. And we obliged.

That's the problem, not a single player wanted to take on their defense and give it a go.   It was like, "yea we're happy to recycle possession even though we are down 2-0 at 60 minutes".

Also, don't really understand why Disasi starts when you have Josh and Malo on the bench.

And then you hear from Maresca in previous games, "Felix and Palmer can't really play together as it affects team balance" and yet he starts both of them today.

I can see what Leicester fans were saying about Maresca last season, they said he's a good manager but also frustrating to watch as he doesn't want to adapt the style of play to the opposition, prefers to stick to possession.

On the bright side, we have endured winter slumps almost every season. Usually beginning in November then recovering early December and again underperforming through the festive days. It usually gets better with the FA Cup 3 rd round where we  normally win convincingly vs some minnows. This year we skipped the November part but hopefully still take charge again vs Morecambe in 2 weeks. Saturday at Selhurst park will probably be another eyesore affair but in the past few years we usually won there even with mediocre performances bc they just allow so many chances. Just take a few of them ffs.

Yes, that'd have allowed Caicedo as the RB. Ipswich used a lot of long balls which tests our defense directly... which tbh sounds like a great strategy against us. 😕

Exactly. We don't have that player anymore who will do that week in week out. Liverpool have Salah who performs week in week out scoring here and there and if not him others.

City sorta have Haarland though he's been having a lot of off days...we used to have players you could rely on to perform week in week out and atm less so. Less attacking more oh this is happening what a shame this week

We have Palmer., who is up there with those players in terms of stats and performance, but he has been alone in the past 3 games, with no one else stepping up to the plate.

We are overly reliant on him, in the past few games.

Liverpool have Salah in front, and Van Dijk in defense.

Our backline is terrible. We were getting by this season because our attack was good, and everyone was chipping in with goals, not just Palmer.

In today's game, if our defense could have held together even once, we could have won.

But no, you have someone like Disasi, the oldest member of that starting 11, goofing up like he did.

And Tosin and Colwill are soft CBs. We need at least one player with real steel playing in the backline.

I haven't watched the match as I am away in Asia and it kicked off at 3am local time.

However, people shouldn't be surprised by results like this. Our team is still young so doesn't have the experience to manage such games. On top of that Disaster has been starting so when that happens you know you down to 10 men pretty much straight away. That is also before we get to Tosin not being good enough either.

Top 5 is the target this season. Hopefully, the club can get us a half decent CB in Jan and we can steady the ship.
