Newcastle 2-0 Chelsea

I believe we can make it 2 out of 2 against Newcastle. Our recent win over them in the league definitely boosts our confidence, and that psychological edge could make a real difference this time around.

I guess we will have to start Sancho on the right, as he cant play against Man Utd on Sunday and Mudryk deserves a go on the left. I will go with:

Jorgensen, Veiga, Badi, Tosin, Gusto, Enzo, Hall, Felix, Mudryk, Sancho and Nkunku. Hoping for a scrappy 0-2/1-3 win. It wont be an easy game up there for sure.

another great omen

Dodgers vs. Yankees World Series Game 3 Highlights (10/28/24) | MLB Highlights

No team that lost the first three games of a World Series has ever stuck around for Game 6, let alone win the Series. This is the 120th World Series played.

Just one club, the 2004 Boston Red Sox, against the Yankees in the American League Championship Series two decades ago, has completed the comeback to win after losing the first 3 games in any 7 game postseason series ever.

How the 2004 Red Sox did the (seemingly) impossible

We need the Carabao cup.
It will secure a Europa place if we win it.
NC are dangerous. They missed the chance of the season on Sunday to equalise and although we score goals more often than we used to, our defense is shaky.

So Todd team is about to win.

It took them a while to get this good.

I think we are also on that trajectory. Probably on their 5th season we might see a more mature Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca on Filip Jorgensen being close to becoming Chelsea's no.1:

"No. At the moment, the No 1 is Robert Sanchez. Filip is doing fantastic in the Carabao Cup, the Conference League. But at the moment, there is no doubt Robert is the No 1."

Enzo Maresca says he’s now watching Van Nistleroy’s PSV games ahead of the weekend, and could turn to Ruben Amorim’s too. (@kierangill_DM)

“In the end, that is football. I am the guy who asks Robert to do that. And Robert is going to do that. In the moment he stops to do that, he is not going to play. If Robert makes a mistake, it’s not Robert’s problem, it’s my mistake because I asked that from Robert.

“I am very happy with Robert and the way he is playing, building from the back. All the goal kicks we have and he passes the ball to Noni, and Pedro, that kind of ball that gives us many times chances to attack. Sometimes you make mistakes but it is not going to change the way we are going to play.”

I don't see the reason to make a change until Jorgensen is banging on the door. Maresca's messaging has been mostly on-point. Whether it was with the way he talked to the squad in the summer, freezing out Sterling/Chilwell or his choice of words about GK now

Madness.

Sanchez is utter shite.

Not really a fangirl of Jørgensen either.

So he told Sanchez to collapse on the floor rather smoother the ball at Dipperland and to run out like a moron against Brighton and get nowhere near the ball? OK.

The problem with Sanchez isn't that he cannot execute the passes the manager is asking for, it is that he he has a super weird mix when it comes to shot stopping of making the easy look hard but occasionally making the hard look easy. The problem is, a GK frequently deals with the easy more than the hard.
