another catastrophic mistake

Realistically speaking where do you see a place for him? He can only play RW. Palmer is our best player. And generational talent is coming in Estevao and Paez.

As a non-English fan it’s really fucking puzzling. I could understand match going fans getting restless and agitated if we’re playing like shit 10 matches into the season. But from basically minute 1 there are reports of booing, singing Gallagher’s name, and a generally library like atmosphere at the Bridge.

I really don’t get it. We’ve got loads of exciting players and a new manager that’s going to try to play good, modern football. And yet the match going fans won’t even give it a chance? They trying to make it toxic for the players?

The match going fans are full of dinosaurs mate. I use to cringe at some of the tripe that was being discussed on the terraces.

First of all he is 73 years old. Majority of people don't know how to use internet at that age. He's writing here not in his native language. I think that's impressive. Apparently graduated college in UK. His comments in politics thread are one of the most entertaining parts of this forum. I consider him intellectual and have huge respect for him.

Common sense doesn’t come with age then, thanks for the reminder.

I bet you £100 quid it wouldn’t touch the tripe from talk sport about Chelsea.

On par mate. Its easier to read than to hear a load of old piss heads waffling on.

It was an all round shit performance this, and if we are conceding this amount of chances against this level of opposition then we are truly fucked

I have no idea what happens next with Mudryk he is a complete lost cause, he actually looks like he has never played football before. As for that Guiu miss well say no more, the striker curse time after time, it's like the weight of the badge affects them mentally and they just crumble. Players like him will just never ever work here, he will be gone in the next year, another totally pointless purchase.

Also, watching Dewsbury-Hall last night, fuck me, my 12 year old son is better in midfield than him. He was running around like a lost sheep. His pass choices absolute garbage and I can't see a big future for him here, just not good enough.

Allowing Servette 19 shots and 8 on target at Stamford Bridge is crazy.

It is what happens when you have the three CB's out that we did. Disaster and Badi are known quantities but Tosin also was concerning when the balls where being crossed in as he was not attacking the ball.

CB for me is still a massive issue. I do not trust any of them defensively, Tosin may find a role as a sweeper with low defensive responsibility but I that is about it. I am starting to suspect James will have to start playing there.

How is it not the same? How can the back line be upwards, it’s makes absolutely no sense

Moving upfield is to attack, it's a peculiar Anglicism.
From midfield upwards means the defensive formation.

Its the generic term globally, even in Greece.

Oxford English Dictionary could not be more simple

upfield

adjective, adverb

uk/ʌpˈfiːld/ us/ʌpˈfiːld/

in team sports, towards the end of the field where the opposing defending team's goal is:

''He also made a couple of crucial upfield breaks.''

 More examples

''Moments later Deportivo break upfield to take the lead.''

''Some think that you always have to clear the ball upfield.''

''After 35 minutes, they found Chelsea breaking upfield to score.''

''She has the strength and the speed to get upfield quickly.''

''He managed to latch on to a speculative upfield kick and score a try in the corner.''

He is so average it’s unreal. Never should’ve been signed but people thought we’d upgraded on Gallagher based on one season in the championship. He is another poor signing, said it as soon as it was announced, he isn’t an improvement on what we had before -even if folk liked Gallagher or not, how it wasn’t clear is beyond me.

Guiu needed a loan for sure. Another “low risk high reward” sort of signing in terms of fee but we clearly needed an established number 9.

Mudryk should of been binned off after his first 6 months. But it will be next to impossible.

And your right, if we concede these numbers of chances against Servette then yes what will a proper team do? Look at the ease in which City scored their 2 goals also.
