Portsmouth vs Chelsea

Chelsea%20vs%20Sunderland.jpg

Guus Hiddink's in-form Chelsea travel to Fratton Park to play Portsmouth.

Chelsea have already beaten the South Coast team twice this season; a 4-0 demolition on the opening day of the Premier League saw new signing Deco come up trumps with a superb debut performance, and another 4-0 result at Fratton Park in the Carling Cup meant that the Blues eased into the fourth round of the competition.

However, last season, the Blues failed to beat their hosts after Jermain Defoe scored an equaliser on his first appearance for the club, despite Nicolas Anelka putting his side ahead.

Seeing as Rafa seems to do something crazy when their pressured pressures good :D

Lets hope we can put them under..no Crouchy/Glen Johnson/anyone scoring!

Be nice to give Mancienne another start considering he did pretty well Sat

Will Essien play?

Not a chance. He's playing tonight in a reserves match if I remember correctly, and that's more than enough match time for Michael at the moment. He's gotta ease back in carefully.

Carvalho's playing for the reserves so he won't take part till Cov at the earliest.

And he only did 60 mins during that

Essien however woo lasted the whole game and a goal :D good start, couple more of them maybe then ease him back in?

TUESDAY

Portsmouth v Chelsea, 7.45pm

Pompey midfielder Richard Hughes and keeper Jamie Ashdown are back in training after recovering from injuries but will not be considered for selection.

Senegalese international Papa Bouba Diop remains sidelined with knee ligament damage.

Chelsea will again be without defender Ricardo Carvalho as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Michael Essien, who is on the brink of full fitness after long-term knee ligament problems, is also out.

Midfielder Deco (hamstring) is again doubtful.
