Chelsea striker in trouble in Germany

Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro appears to have damaged his chances of a securing a permanent move to Werder Bremen after being sent off for violent conduct and then failing to turn up to training. The striker was subsequently left out of the squad for the weekend fixture against Energie Cottbus as a punishment.

Pizzaro, who moved to the Bundesliga outfit on loan, has been in decent form this season and had hinted that he’d sign a permanent contract if one was forthcoming. However, following his recent indiscretions, Bremen’s director of sport, Klaus Allofs made clear his frustrations:

“It was a huge disappointment for me that that happened to a player like Pizarro," he said.

"We signed him to act as a leading player who should serve as a role model to the others but then he was suspended for violent conduct against Karlsruhe and now this happens."

Allofs backed the decision taken by coach Thomas Schaaf to exclude him from Saturday's game after breaching club rules.

"To have let him play anyway would have sent out the wrong signal," he added.

"We cannot accept such behaviour. We voluntarily dropped one of our weapons but we have got to live with that."

Pizarro, who has netted ten goals in 13 Bundesliga games so far this season, is adamant he wants to stay in Germany, where he enjoyed considerable success with Bayern Munich before moving to Chelsea.

Pizarro has never been a prolific striker, he's decent at best. When we signed him he was playing regularly for Bayern so his lack of game time with Chelsea obviously affected his overall game.

The only reason I think he should be brought back is if we intend to use him. If he's going to be a bit part player it would be better to sell and move on.

Personally i dont want to see him back, his work rate was terrible for us, most the time he seems very lazy and even when he did put in the effort, he never really shower any real threat. Bring him back for the Birmingham games thats about it lol
