The Observer says Arnesen believes Guus Hiddink's arrival could restore his power at Chelsea and dined with him last week. But club insiders say a new chief scout could be sought. The News of the World claims today that "Roman Abramovich hopes to complete his new backroom staff by recruiting Ajax chief scout Hans van der Zee. The Dutchman will work under new Chelsea manager Frank Rijkaard next season." A fellow report in the Daily Express says that Hans van der Zee will "join Frank Arnesen in bringing in and developing new talent." Hans van der Zee has been chief international scout at Ajax since July 1, 2007, he has had a specific remit to find players outside Holland. Prior to moving to the Amsterdam giants, he performed the same role for PSV from 2001, during his time in Eindhoven he brought Jefferson Farfan to the club. The 53-year-old has also had spells as the technical director at AZ Alkmaar and coach of Sparta Rotterdam. We need a set-up that is going to last us and we need to build something lasting. We could also do with looking at our youth coaching set up, i am not convinced we have the best possible coaches for our youngsters since the all the changes this season.
