Gotta be Chelsea-Everton, not Everton-Chelsea.

Btw, just announced, Everton got 2 more points deducted, so they are still fighting against relegation.

Thank you. Trying to be quick on my lunch break and hose it up.

You just posted the "American way" which is super weird tbh. 😅

I've been told it's natural like Chiefs (at) Ravens or the Chiefs (in) Baltimore.
Though apparently it comes from Baseball where the home team always bats last.

At best 2-2, probably lose though.

I just want this season over, but then what? we’re going to be stuck in this malaise for years to come.

I see no hope for us, until clownlake fuck off and we get owners in who know what they’re doing.

They won't leave anytime soon.  Just look how long it took the Glazers to give up a part of United to Sir Jim

Feel like we'll be stuck like this for another 5+ years and by that time, all the actual talent at the club will leave for better opportunities (Enzo will be in La Liga, Nkunku will go somewhere, Palmer will probably go back to City).

Urghhhh we don't seem to do well in this one..or any one.

Sure they'll score 2

Will probably be the same as every other game

Either we score first and they get the draw or they score first and probably hang on for the 3 points as we can't break down a compact team that defends half-decent

We need to stop talking about injuries – Mauricio Pochettino

https://www.beinsports.com/en-us/soccer/premier-league/articles/we-need-to-stop-talking-about-injuries--mauricio-pochettino-2024-04-12

  • Chelsea could have 11 players missing against Everton but their manager is keen to see it as an opportunity for young players.

Mauricio Pochettino said it is time to stop talking about injuries and let Chelsea’s academy players show what they can do ahead of Monday’s meeting with Everton.

The Argentinian could have as many as 11 absentees for the game at Stamford Bridge, with Enzo Fernandez and Raheem Sterling amongst the latest doubts.

Training sessions this season have relied heavily on players called up from the academy, and several have been named in matchday squads as the injury crisis has deepened.

The following injury update has been issued ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League fixture against Everton.

Ben Chilwell – in partial team training.

Axel Disasi – undergoing medical assessment.

Enzo Fernandez – undergoing medical assessment.

Robert Sanchez – absent due to illness.

Raheem Sterling – absent due to illness.

Levi Colwill – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.

Wesley Fofana – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.

Reece James – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.

Romeo Lavia – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.

Christopher Nkunku – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.

Lesley Ugochukwu – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.

That's the spirit... ignore all the problems with injuries this season.. why question the medical team when we have youngsters as backup? Who needs wins?

Chelsea could set all time English football record if they repeat their recent run against Everton

https://Chelsea.news/2024/04/Chelsea-could-set-all-time-english-football-record-if-they-repeat-their-recent-run-against-everton/

In their preview of Chelsea’s game against Everton, BBC Sport have noted that the Blues could set a pretty wild record if the scoreline goes a certain way.

Across all competitions, Chelsea are currently on an astonishing run. They have both scored and conceded at least 2 goals in the last 7 games. The BBC say that in English top flight football history, no team has ever managed 8 in a row.

The total defensive collapse we’ve seen in the last couple of months was quite unexpected, and we saw Thiago Silva come back into the lineup in our last game to try and fix things, without any success. Our game against Everton on Monday night will have a lot of eyes on it, and we need to produce a better showing at the back.

How to get out of defensive nightmare

Maybe we’re being too hopeful, but this seems like a great game to break the streak. Everton are not much good at scoring, but they’re decent defensively. That should help on both counts. It’s also an away game, which should mean we play a little deeper and a little tighter than the cluster of games at Stamford Bridge recently, where we’ve successfully got on the front foot and scored goals, but left ourselves open at the back, hence this astonishing run of scorelines.

It would be just typical for this to be a 0-0 now – and given the frustration of our recent draws against bad teams, that would be another major black mark against Mauricio Pochettino’s name in this crucial run of games which his future is being judged on.
