CORRECTION FROM INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY

The Independent on Sunday has today (Sunday) published the following correction.

Roman Abramovich and Chelsea FC:

"On 18 January we reported on a story in that day's Sunday Times which suggested Roman Abramovich's representatives have been in talks over selling his interest in Chelsea FC, and also reported statements made by the club the day before confirming that Mr Abramovich was not looking to sell his interest and that he remained committed as ever. In publishing this story we did not of course mean to suggest that Mr Abramovich or Chelsea had lied or misled the public, a point we are happy to underline now."

The article appeared in all editions of the hard copy of the IoS, positioned on the Letters page, which is the newspaper's dedicated corrections and clarifications column.

It was published in a text box positioned in the top two-thirds of the page, within the space for the Letters section and with the names as the headline in bold. This week the Letters page is on page 44.

It also appeared on their website (www.independent.co.uk) on the corrections and clarifications page.The statement is returned by means of a search for either Roman Abramovich or Chelsea FC.
