Scolari keep the faith

The last thing we want to hear during these times is calling for Scolari to go, booing the team, critizing them for every bad story or mad move they make on the pitch. Ive seen many Chelsea fans come out mostly this week saying that Scolari should be sacked. He hasn't got a clue about what hes doing etc. We were in a similar position last season 5 points behind Arsenal at the time, people had said Chelsea were out of the title race and they had no chance in winning the league. Jose had left Avram came in, his first game was a 2-0 defeat at Old Tradford. Kind of similar to the other day in a way. Many people were agaisnt Avram's appointment as manager no one gave him any chance what so ever. Many also thought the Carling Cup was Chelsea's only chance of silverware that season. We ended up taking the title race to the last day of the season beating Man United at the Bridge as well. Only ended up in the Champions League final too, the first time in the clubs history. This was after many people had written us off. Its the beginning of 2009 Man United this time are favourites and one point behind but if they win their two games in hand they will be 5 points ahead...However this time round we have a stronger squad and a better manager. Scolari is one of the most experienced managers around. When Big Phil was at Brazil the Brazilian team were in trouble of not qualifying for the 2002 World Cup. With 5 games to go in the qualfying rounds the Brazilian people thought even if they did reach the finals it would be a hard task to even get close to winning it. They qualified for 2002 World Cup in the end and Scolari then left Romario out of the squad which angered the whole of Brazil and many people wrote off Brazil at the start of the tournament. Of course as you know they went on to win it.

To write Chelsea off now and to lose all faith in Scolari at this moment in time is stupid. Booing the team etc will get us nowhere in the end. Its time to get behind the team more than ever. I know its only a minority of us Chelsea fans but please judge Scolari not now but at the end of the season.

I have to apologise for my reaction after the game on Sunday, I was absolutely devestated and very angry. I still meant what I said, however. I don't think he is the right manager for us, but I accept he is not the only one to blame. I am willing to stick by him till the end of the season simply because it is his first year in European football, but I still have my doubts regarding the man.

That being said, I had doubts over Grant as well, and we got through that.

Luke, Scolari isn't looking any better than Grant at the moment. The thing is with the team at the moment, they never look convincing. When we do win games, its been somewhat fortunate in most cases, and that result on Sunday was no surprise as a result.

Yes, we could still win three competitions. But the way we're playing, it's simply not going to happen. I don't think sacking Scolari is the answer as it will only make things worse, we can only hope that he learns from Sunday and fast.

I was pissed off Sun but it werent so much due to the manager it was due to the team lack of life and the poxy lack of post defending so this news :D

Hopfully good news:

Apprantly he's said he's planning to adopt a zonal marking system after watching his side concede five of their last six goals from set-pieces.]

Sacking imo be stupid cause I can see us going through so many managers if we dont give them at least 2 seasons! Some money to add to the sqaud etc.

I just lose faith in his timing with subs and abality to inspire but hmmm guess that can improve just start marking properly!!!!!!!!

Whats with the negativity around Grant? He done a fantastic job.

My opinion hasnt changed. Scolari has came in and changed the whole set up of the coaching/training/tactics etc....Who else is to blame?

The general feel about Grants time in charge is that the players and Steve Clarke carried the team through the season. If he is such a great manager then why hasnt any big European Club appointed him as manager?

Answers on a postcard.....

Grant did the best job he could have done considering he was seriously lacking in real football management skills by keeping the spirit that Jose had installed in the team and not changing anything. All he did was pick the players, the players knew what they had to do.

If Scolari can't turn it around who can? Also remembering Mourinho had the money to spend to bring in the players he wanted and who would fit he's tactics and ideas. Scolari had no money to really spend. Deco was the only player he brought in. If Scolari had the money to spend i bet he would have brought in more players. Keep the faith.... :blue scalf:

I don't think sacking Scolari is the right move, I never said that. Scolari has to turn it around. And maybe he will do after watching it tonight, he managed to get them motivated anyway.
