Maybe unconvincing is a better word.

I don’t think we played that well in all honesty. Scoreline flattered us. We laboured to like the 75-80th min to score against 9 men. We did force some mistakes but to say we played very well is clutching at straws.

Text commentary could say whatever it was I watched the game, it took us to the second half being up against 9 men to really lay a glove on Spurs. Because they played their back 4 on the halfway line. Yes thats football but 11 v 11 would of ended up like the City game, 100%, high scoring game for both sides because we are still naïve defensively and Spurs also will concede chances in this way they play.

Our defending in these big games could have been better true, but we also were faced with better offences than usual. I think the biggest weakness remains our chance wasting.  Both in the city game and the spuds one before the first send off we had more and better chances . Take some of those and fewer fingers pointed at defence. I think playing both Disasi and silva with their lack of recovery pace makes us vulnerable. Can only accommodate one atm. Also we are seeing Cucurella limits even when he is playing at his best again. Should consider playing Colwill at Lb and definitely Badiashile over Disasi for me.

Watched Argentina vs Brazil a couple days ago. Was a bit surprised a healthy Silva was not playing or on the bench. I think his time has passed. He has been great but once an aging player losses acceptable game speed, it is never going to get better.

He can still play in our set up, for a bit anyway. I think Argentina were very fast. That game was a warzone !

It was a good watch. Argentina looked sharp and well drilled. Brazil looked like a collection of good players working together but not a coherent plan. If it is true that Ancelotti takes the Brazilian job next year, he and his staff will make that team sharp.

Chelsea confirm late major blow ahead of Newcastle United clash at St James' Park

Chelsea won't have Mauricio Pochettino on the touchline for their Premier League clash against Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino will serve a one-match touchline ban against Newcastle United this afternoon (kick-off 3pm).

The Argentine picked up his third yellow card of the campaign in the 4-4 draw with Manchester City last time out after storming onto the pitch to confront referee Anthony Taylor.

The news has come as a surprise to many Chelsea fans with Pochettino's suspension not reported in the media until late on Friday night.

Two of Pochettino’s three bookings came earlier this season against Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley.

"We have to be more flexible - we are too square with things," Pochettino said. "That also doesn’t help the relationship.

"Sometimes we are frustrated because we were talking in the last managers' meeting [about this]. The coaches need to be more involved in these decisions.

"It’s not only one coach that thinks like this. We all have full respect for the referees. We understand perfectly that their job is really tough.
