What was the point of 1) signing this guy & 2) not loaning him out? If he can’t get any minutes when we are needing a goal in a cup game against a championship team then that says it all.

Loan him out this month FFS.

Don't try and figure out what the board are thinking. It will just do your head in.

Spent 18million on him. At some point there needs to be an enquiry into the Clearlake spendings. I doubt we make any money back on the youngsters we have signed.

No doubt we won't, we're signing players for 20m each with less than 10 professional games. They rejected a real talent in Endrik and bought all these maybes.

Brazilians with misspelled American names are the best! 😆

That's actually how one (or rather his folks) would make his name be pronounced David in Portuguese.

And spending the amount of money we do on a player without much proven experience is utterly shambolic. He looks no way near ready and Poch clearly thinks the same. Just under £20m on a player we are hesitant to bring on is completely shameful.

Would it be completely wrong to say we’ve been milked by some agents who hyped up their clients using YouTube compilations and PR?

Washington, David Fofana, Diego Moreira, Lesley Ugo and few others fall in this category. Little experience, lot of hype.

Chelsea is clearly run as a business now. I think in the business world they call such assets potential growth stocks. You need only one or two to really hit off to make a profit. I'm no pro investor, but I really think we should stay away from IPOs for a while and diversify our portfolio with a few solid proven stocks that would pay guaranteed dividends for a couple of years. In the end some of the growth stocks might start paying dividends too, but we should invest safer in the meantime so as not to go broke.

What hype never heard of any of them before we got them. They are buying random youngsters for big money, aren't even top of the echelon in terms of talent.

His agent planted the story that Brighton had identified him as Caicedo replacement. It worked because it instantly got the clueless owners hard. Just like with Cucurella, Mudryk and Lavia - if Shitty, Arsenal and Liverpool weren't interested, doubt we would have gone for any of them.

😆

it could actually have some truth to it... I wonder if there are significant differences around transfers and, say agent behavior, in American sports vs Football. It could be that there is a certain naiveté in their approach right now.

they will learn in time. 🙂 We will eventually look like a top team again, it may just take a few years though--according to Frank Leboeuf.
