terry26 6
BRIDGE DISCUSSES TERMS Posted on: Fri 02 Jan 2009 Wayne Bridge has today been given permission to speak with Manchester City regarding a permanent transfer. The left-back, who is currently nursing a slight injury that will keep him out of Saturday's FA Cup tie with Southend United, has made 142 appearances so far in his Chelsea career, since signing from Southampton in 2003. Luiz Felipe Scolari confirmed that he would not stand in the 28-year-old's way should he decide his future lies away from Stamford Bridge. 'If they have a good deal, no problem for me,' the manager said. 'I think it's better you ask Peter [Kenyon], because Peter knows everything that has happened. I don't know what has happened yesterday, today, and I have a meeting after training with Peter when I will ask about what has happened, if we have a deal or not. 'If any club wants to buy some players from Chelsea, offer big money because if you play in Chelsea you are very good and we need to receive a big offer. After we will discuss internally and if the player agrees, it is no more my job. I am a coach. Money is not my business, it is a business for the board and owner, not for me.' As the January transfer window kicks into action, Scolari added that he does not expect anybody to be arriving at the club. 'Now is the time for transfers, for speculation, everything. Now is the time, every day in the newspaper 10 players come, 10 players out, we expect [this] and we say something when we receive offers, or we offer for some players to come to Chelsea. Until now, nothing. 'If I want players, I never say to the press before I say to Peter. Any name in the newspaper is speculation, managers that want to sell players. With my mouth, nothing. I am happy with my players here, I don't want other players.' i understand his want for games but i dont want him to leave Edited January 2, 2009 by terry26
Kez 2,727
Neither do I But he wont turn down first team football on top of what they are offering
misschief 24
Cant blame him for taking the chance of regular football and a nice pay rise. We've got ourselves the best possible deal we could for a squad player so we cant really complain.

BlueLion. 21,491
Was only a matter of time. Great servant to the club, but he deserves first team football.
Fulham Broadway 17,363
Man City have the cash now -not that Abramovich is skint, but apparently the fraudster in New York, Bernard Madoff made off with a fair chunk. Bridge has been the consumate professional.

BlueLion. 21,491
Let's think about it, that £12 million could go a fair way into buying a striker, and maybe even a replacement defender as well.
Drogba11CFC 108
There has been a rumor that we could do a swap with Roma (Cicinho for Malouda). I read it in the Telegraph.
chrismada9 1,948
Not happy about this at all!! Bridge is a quality full back who is better than Ashley Cole, and we're getting rid of him Nevertheless, I wish Wayne Bridge all the best of luck at City

diskoviolente 425
Sad to see him go.. but it is good step for him, and a good oppertunity for Chelsea to get some cash for buying someone like Zhirkov or a new striker
BlueLion. 21,491
I agree with the above post. As much as I want Wayne to stay, a new striker is very important - Kalou's a waste of space and di Santo is too young to go to places like Anfield and the Emirates should we be missing NA and DD. the wes 7,212
if the rumour are true Zhirkov would do a brilliant job to replace bridge can bridge score goals like this in this video clip what a goal

.Cee 50
Good luck to him there, except when they meet us. I hope Bertrand or van Aanholt will take his place and we won't buy a new back-up left-back.
