the wes 7,212
It appears as thought Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is fighting a losing battle with the Blues board as he tries to secure some January transfer funds. British tabloid The Mirror, though, reports that the Premier League title hopefuls are thinking creatively as they seek to enhance the squad on what is apparently a threadbare budget. Their report suggests that Florent Malouda will be offered to Serie A strugglers Roma in exchange for full-back Cicinho. Brazilian coach Scolari values his wing backs and his 28-year-old countryman would likely thrive at Stamford Bridge under Felipão. The players in question have been the subjects of much speculation in recent times, so perhaps it was only a matter of time before their names were mentioned together. Bayern Munich are apparently interested in Malouda, who has failed to achieve the required consistency on the Premier League, despite some bright moments. Meanwhile, former Real Madrid man Cicinho has stated that he doesn't want to part with the Giallorossi, although the club have allegedly lined up Valencia full back Miguel as his replacement. The top clubs in his native Brazil are also said to be monitoring his situation closely. The idea of a Malouda/Cicinho swap is interesting. It could be mutually beneficial, both for the clubs and the players, but we shall wait for an official hint before considering the idea any further. BlueLion. 21,491
Apparently Malouda wanted to join Roma in the summer before he learned Scolari was going to be the new manager. I reckon he thought he'd play more often, but obviously not

BlueLion. 21,491
I guess Paulo will be our back up LB/RB, Ivanovic will be CB/RB cover, Alex will be CB cover and then Juliano will be RB/Midfield cover. Will still work out fine I feel.

chelseafc123 0
Cicinho is versatile. But it's a garbage player to everything else.
Milan 17,959
Cicinho wants to stay in Rome Roma wing-back Cicinho has had no contact with Chelsea and is content in the Italian capital, according to his agent. The Brazil international has been linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge, with Florent Malouda being mooted as a possible makeweight in any deal. The 28-year-old, however, has already expressed his desire to remain with the Giallorossi, and on Sunday his agent Ricardo Sarti echoed his client's sentiments. "Here in Brazil I told the press that he is fine and wants to stay in Rome," he told Corriere dello Sport. "Of the Chelsea interest, I've only read about it in the newspaper. I spoke with Cicinho and he is calm. "In Brazil they're even talking about interest from Santos and Internacional but there's nothing, he just wants to play for Roma." Cicinho has made only eight league appearances for Roma this season. He joined the Serie A side on a five-year deal in the summer of 2007 in an €11million move from Real Madrid. skysports
