the wes 7,212
Chelsea No2 Ray Wilkins admits the club are weighing up bringing in a new striker this January The Blues are currently second in the Premier League after Didier Drogba's return inspired a 2-0 Boxing Day win over West Brom. But having operated with just Nicolas Anelka up front for the bulk of the season, Wilkins claims a fresh face could be brought into to bolster the attack. The assisant manager said: "We have got the injury situation haven't we? "If you lose both in the same game, you always need cover with injuries. "You have to have a top end of your side with goalscoring ability otherwise we are not going to progress through the Premier League. "We have supplemented Didier's injury with the players we have here and Nicolas' goals have been top drawer, so from that aspect we are thrilled and it has been fantastic." Steve 10,227
should be an interesting window... Owen anyone? Hmm i dont no about owen, he used to be a decent player but now he gets so many injuries and thats the last thing we need at the moment. We are looking for a striker as cover and if he gets injured we will basically be in the same boat as what we where before if we signed him. Better than Heskey any day and You never know, maybe he will find some new motivation under Scolari and get back to his best.
BlueLion. 21,491
Personally I'd rather go for a striker that is proven in the EPL. Amr Zaki fits the bill, and he's only 25.

BlueLion. 21,491
Aguero would cost over £60 million. Not an option it would appear. Zaki or Fabiano are my options. Can't we recall Pizarro?
LAS 0
Pizarro well plays the Werder but it seems to me is not necessary to Chelsea... as Shevchenko too
zinctek 470
i still say Benny Macafy or how ever you spell it from blackburn or Santa 1 or the other they are both top forwards in the EPL
Matterz 67
I can't really understand why we are interested in a striker when we have two of the very best and one of them is always on the bench? Personally I think up front is not the problem, we need width, we a player who can stretch defences, and create chances, a bit of magic, dare I say it we need a Robinho, but seeing as that went balls up, Frank Ribery seems perfect for me, however we will only get him in the summer tho. Don't really think we need anyone honestly, remeber that now Ricky is back we are much more solid at the back, JT will be back soon, which means are first choice defence is back, and when Essien returns it will be like having a new signing!!!!! Maybe Wagner Love on loan as back up or bring back Pizarro for the time being
