Seymop 90
Potter is out of his depth and has no idea how to halt the downward slide. But who in the club was actually responsible for signing half of this lot on inflated transfer fees and totally inflated salaries ???? Cucarella ( a joke), Sterling,Auba, Mydryk ( might be a good prospect but too risky for the money we paid,Koulibally — and so on and so on. Really sad to say we are currently becoming a bad joke Johnnyeye
Pizy 19,259
More I read about Naglesmann the more I’m skeptical about whether he is the right choice. He couldn’t be worse than Potter but hard to say he’d be what we need long term.
Vegetable 830
There was a lot of stink around Nagelsmann long before he was sacked (partly because he fitted Bayern mentality bit too well), but we are not really in position to be picky. Tuchel didn't have a great reputation as well. If I was to give sb a risky shot, it would much rather be Nags, than GP. Fernando
Fulham Broadway 17,724
It's not that we are sleep walking into mediocrity, we're there. The longer it goes on then it will become the 'norm'. The Abramovich era will be looked back on as the Golden era by historians. Johnnyeye

But yeah he is trash coach acording to some ppl The statistics are just there: statistically he is the worst Bayern coach in the last 10 years. Its just a fact. Dont even mention CL, bc if u only look at CL, even Potter seems like a good coach. 6 games - 5 wins - 11:2 goals lol The thing is: sacking Potter is very risky from a financial point of view. We risk breaking some financial regulations, FFP, PL and so on. And it means we couldnt really strenghten the squad in the summer. So we should be really sure about the next manager. Just sacking Potter for the sake of sacking is not the best option given the financial problems we will get. We must be sure the next manager wont have the same problems as Potter, Nagelsmann is very expensive as well, so paying him off too after 1 year might actually destroy this club. Pizy 19,259
It seems I’m the only one who wants it but….Conte is right there… 😔 A manager who connected well with the supporters, is a serial winner when backed in the market, and knows the club/league well. I really don’t see the downsides. Tottenham was the last club in Europe for a manager like him who demands the highest standards. This squad we have needs an authoritative figure who will push them and demand top performances. Not a passionless amateur like Potter who wants to be every player’s favorite uncle. didi007 and Seymop
Blue Armour 4,718
Another reason why Arsenal winning the league doesn't do us any favors - the owners probably keep looking at Arteta as the reason why Potter should be given a chance. Hell, Potter kept saying it himself in press conferences., to make excuses for his terrible performance. Seymop

Should have been sacked on the spot for pulling that card. manpe and Vegetable

I dont know why he is used as a reference point cos Potter is mediocre and not winning anything in the near future (ten years) Blue Armour and manpe

Like DDA said above - you have to appreciate coming in and trying to take things on your way. Reality is - they are successful at what they do and making successful teams. We have bitched and moaned throughout the Roman era that the football wasn't pretty, we never gave the youngsters a go, and that we have no real continuity and identity... Well, we are trying now, and this is what it takes. Some rough times and growing pains. "Fans" here act like we are going through the worst of the worst. Reality is; we are not all that far removed from winning the club world cup, a CL title, and we have done some fantastic business for great young talents. We have some players that aren't cutting it right now like KK, Cucu and others, but we have signed promising talents. This is no different to any other team, aside from the fact I would say we are talent stacked heading into next season bar a striker. Potter was a mistake, but it seems they are ready to try a different approach. Give it time. Fernando
Pizy 19,259
Arse were also in the mud for like 10 years when they appointed Arteta. They were in the wilderness and a laughing stock. It was easier for the club to go for a rebuild from the ground up and build the team up gradually. We just recently won the Champions League and have a squad that’s MUCH further along than what Arteta started with. So the expectations from Chelsea supporters were much higher. Arteta even in his first couple of mediocre seasons at least showed spells of progress and won a couple of minor trophies. Potter’s flashes have been the odd individual match. Nothing sustained. That's it. I didn't expect miracles this season and be challenging for anything cause a bit far from it. But didn't expect to be 11th with 28 games played and 10 of those wins but also 10 of those losses.. What's frustrating is just when you see a glimpse of something coming together we take leaps back. Seems the wins are more a fluke then anything! Johnnyeye
gdlk 297
Comparing with Arteta is BS, at least he was trying to implement his style, his vision of football while Harry Potter whats he doing? Rellying on Tuchel tactics to save your job! Not an inch improvement in all aspect. I think for first time some Chelsea fans will be for Liverpool in next match.. Vegetable 830
Quote - Chelsea to 'speak internally' about the situation of Graham Potter to confirm if they still want him or go with a different decision. Comedy. Where had they been for last 3 months? And the Artreta card… a lot of Potter fans use it, but if board is seriously thinking this way… Let's hope they are serious people. I know people like to see it this way, but we are switching personel and ideas non-stop, buying youngsters and actually playing youngsters is not the same (GP played youth when he was absolutely forced to) and the team seems way too clueless and depressed to play "beautiful football". Most of the fundamental change that people like and use to defend the current situation exist only in theory I'm afraid. Hell, I'd even not bash Potter on the wired shit he had pulled yesterday as it's at least a sign of him doing something, instead of hanging for dear life and saying it's the "vision".
