Graham Potter Thread

I’ve been hesitant about Enrique because his only really successful period came when he had arguably the best attack in club football history. He has never done the business outside of his Spanish comfort zone. Didn’t pull up trees at his other stops.

But I’d take him for sure right now. He would at least bring some pattern and structure to our play and help get the best out of these flair players. I read some quotes from Messi saying he’s a brilliant coach. Just bring him and give him a head start in next season.

Football is a business first and foremost to Prem Clubs. The transfer fees and wages have spiralled out of control. There isnt time for any Mr Nice guy to be given a chance. The sooner Boehly and Eggman realise this the better.

We need to find a good feeling, a nice game, three points

Yeah, dude is like 15 games late to the party and luckiest man alive that Boehly had burnt the bridge with only elite replacement on the market.

I wonder where is a potential win for Potter as a manager in this situation, except his fat paycheck - he is generally hated, bar Law and co, if he is sacked, he is done at top level that he never actually reached, and let's say this dumpster fire is dragged because Boehly can't admit he was an idiot - if it takes Potter 4 years, relegation battle and miserable seasons to make a top 4 contender after acquiring world's top talent a top 4 contender again, will people really let themselves to be tricked to think it's a success?

Whatever success the champion of excuses will (unlikely) achieve, people will always be somewhat right to say you could have a dog on the touchline and achieve the same with this squad and money…

I think Potter is at the point of no return; he's been manager for a number of months, overseen a full transfer window, and has essentially a full squad to pick from, but our performances get worse each game.

There has to be a time when those making such decisions realise the same thing.

Also had six weeks to gameplan during the World Cup.  Full squad wasn't there but surely had plenty of time to strategize

The argument he didn't have a full squad is confusing to me when during that time he could of materialized coaching strategies and tactics in an effective manner so that when the players did come back he could efficiently get his ideas across.

Fuck knows what he did during the World Cup.

Even 2-3 weeks ago I thought we shouldn’t fire him, 2 sacking in one season is a new level. Also, not too much exciting names are available, probably they don’t want to take the team in March either.

But at this point, we must sack him. These results are just rock bottom. 2 wins in in 15 games, 1 goals in 6 games, hopeless attack and rotation. Truly shocking. I don’t think I ever saw a top team with top players going so low.

'The players were there on the pitch, giving everything. I have no complaints with how they were,' he went on to add.

'Of course, [it tests my relationship with the club’s owners]. I know where my responsibilities lie if results aren’t good enough which they aren’t, you cannot rely on support forever. My job is to keep going and change the moment for the team. They are hurting and it is a tough moment for us. They want the results to get better.'

Graham believes he is the coach to turnaround our poor Premier League form.

Potter or no Potter this season is over. Can't expect any respected manager to come in now. Every italian manager was successful here. Maybe to look there again? I do like Flick and Enrique as well.

Don't like the revisionism about Tuchel. He was part of 3 different PL campaigns and showed around 75 points and top4 is his maximum. Plus I'd like to believe pragmatic coaches like him, Mourinho and Conte are not welcomed here anymore. Club direction it seems is to always play on front foot. This should be priority.
