BlueLion. 21,491
Bollocks to that, when Riccy or JT is injured, who is the one player we can rely on? Alex is one of the best centre-halves in the PL, and what he lacks in pace he makes up for with his intelligent reading of the game and his tackling is second-to-none. Kez 2,727
Can't see us letting him go, he's a fantastic CB when/if riccy moves on he will be the second first choice alongside JT

the wes 7,212
Alex's agent has confirmed that Greek side Panathinaikos are keen on signing the Chelsea defender on loan with a view to a permanent deal. The Brazilian centre-half has struggled to hold down a regular place at Stamford Bridge since his arrival from PSV Eindhoven. Panathinaikos are keen to bolster their backline and are hoping to sign Alex initially on loan with a view to a permanent deal. The Greek giants are managed by former Blues assistant Henk Ten Cate - who knows the stopper well from his time at Stamford Bridge - and Alex's fellow Brazilian Gilberto Silva is also on their books. Alex's representative Giuliano Bertolluci told Greek newspaper Derby: "It's true that people of Panathinaikos called me. We discussed about a possible move of Alex to Panathinaikos. "I think that it's very difficult to have news on this case because my client doesn't want to leave Chelsea on loan with an option for a permanent deal". the wes 7,212
Manchester City are planning a £15 million bid for Chelsea defender Alex. The People says City will go back to Stamford Bridge - after signing Wayne Bridge - with an offer for the big South American who is growing unsettled under Luiz Felipe Scolari and wants to move. Scolari could be willing to sacrifice Alex if he gets the money to bring in badly needed reinforcements.
BlueLion. 21,491
£15 million is certainly a tempting offer, but we should hold out for £70 million plus Robinho if you ask me
Matterz 67
If we gonig to sell to City then we should milk them for as much as we can! He is good player just in real bad form at the moment, was absolute class last year, this year he needs a kick up the arse! If he does go at least we have Ivanovic who is also superb and Mancienne who is a very exciting prospect

Kez 2,727
Why are they after all our players can they not find any others
Elliott 7
Because they sense we might be one of the more vulnerable top 4 at the moment so depleting our squad would be a good way to undermine us further and then overtake us.
EskWeston 696
£15m for Alex with Mancienne right there to come in and take his place? I would be extremely tempted to take it! The money would be very useful and go towards a new forward which we need, and considering we have his replacement right in our squad then it could well be worth taking it. the wes 7,212
ATLETICO MADRID want Chelsea centre-back Alex — and are preparing a £9million bid.
The Spaniards are planning wholesale changes for next season with new coach Cholo Simeone tipped to come in as a permanent replacement for the recently sacked Javier Aguirre. And Simeone has already told club officials that Alex is his top target. The Brazilian was previously sought by Atletico while at PSV Eindhoven but he joined Chelsea instead in 2004. Since then he has made only 40 Premier League apearances, often as a stopgap when John Terry or Ricardo Carvalho have been unavailable. And, in December, then Chelsea boss Philipe Scolari moved quickly to dispel rumours that the player was tired of playing second fiddle to the regular central defensive pairing. It could be different this summer but for now Alex says: “My head is in Chelsea.”

warnie_666 1,081
Alex can Go. We have Mancienne and Bane as back up. Carvalho will be 31 next season, and Ivanovic can take his place fulltime in couple of seasons.
