I said it before. In our last 4 games of the season, bar CL Final, we lost 3 times and won once. I get we had an eye on the final, but even when we played the other final? What makes anyone to think we will get good results with the first 10 games, have you seen our fixtures list, when we won only 25% of our last four games?

With the same players? We are in the very bad position here. If Klopp get his striker right we are officially battling Spurs and Liecester for the top four and we may as well lose Tuchel till December. I'm not convinced Haland is the only answer here. We also need more players in the attack since none of them have capacity to make something on their own.

Under Tuchel last season we beat City three times, including away, Spurs away, Liverpool away, West Ham away (who were on a big run at the time).

We also went unbeaten against United, Atletico and Real Madrid, and beat Leicester in a big pressure game for the 4th spot.

The games against the fellow big teams aren't the worry. We're extremely difficult to score against in the current system if it's maintained and we have pace in attack if space is given.

The problems have been against the lesser teams who don't give much space. That's where we either need a new striker to put these teams to the sword, or hope that our attackers continue to improve and develop. There's a lot of potential there but ultimately that potential will need to be realised for the team as a whole to kick on.

And our last three defeats were against Arsenal, Villa and Leicester. Our next big game is against Villareal. "Small", low block team. How confident we are we will finally get that Super cup? Last year we spent 200 millions on attacking players and neither one of them, yet, have capacity to make something against low block teams who defend. For that kind of money we should have got at least one outstanding attacking player. Time will tell if we have . So far, it doesn't look like that.

Average to very bad transfer windows from 2017 to 2021. WE do not have sellable players among redundant and it is how it is. It will reflect on this league season. If only we could get that Super cup and Club world cup. That would mean a lot.

This will a top signing for United if it goes through ... this will elevate their levels. Will dread this one.

Ole is still at the wheel though.

Personally I think there's a lot more to come from our attacking players, in particular those we brought last season.

Werner and Havertz have already put up very impressive numbers in Germany, and the hope is this can be reflected given time. If anybody wants to question the quality of the Bundesliga then what is the point of going after Haaland.

Ziyech too I think there is more to come from him. People will question his stats have come in the Dutch league but he's also done pretty well in Europe before joining. I actually think he could be someone who has the potential to unlock these type of teams with his passing and offers a different skillset to others. When he did have a purple patch earlier in the season it was against teams of this ilk (Burnley, Sheffield United, etc) where his passing was cutting them apart. His arrival against Villa on the last day I also think made us look a lot stronger and it was his pass that opened up the opportunity for our goal.

Ultimately I think we have a number of different options in our attack and all have the potential to be very good. It's putting it together. Another year older, a season playing together, fans back in stadiums, the confidence of winning a massive trophy, performing under our expected goals stats. I do think we should realistically expect improvement in our attack next season even if we don't add to it.

Problem is, can we motivate to perform his best in these type of games if he knows he likely won't be rewarded by playing the big ones?

I agree with the idea in theory but in reality Tuchel is dealing with a human aswell a player.

Come on after winning a champions League hope is not good enough has to be action can’t afford to sit still when people around you strengthen.

He is a luxury player it is all about managing his qualities. City, Liverpool, and Atletico last season being prime examples.

If the league was won in the market we would have pissed the league last season.

Jorginho was our top scorer in the league ffs

You're changing the subject now. You say we can't afford to "stand still" (not long after we brought half a new team and one of the world's best managers but I digress) then surely by that logic we would have won the league last season.

Then it's a worst kept secret that we need a striker like of Haaland who score goals if feed by our mid-field.

Every club is looking to always strengthen, I don't believe in the idea of the board being content.

But give us some insight then into who we should buy to strengthen and why/how they could strengthen us. It's boring hearing this statement on here constantly and across social media without people providing realistic suggestions.

Take Haaland out of the equation, name me a realistically attainable striker who will strengthen us?

Is there a specialist wing back out there that can significantly improve on Chilwell and James?

Is there a midfielder who can improve on Kante and Jorginho?

If we want to strengthen our "strongest XI" then the pool of players shrinks significantly. Or by strengthen are you happy with a couple of squad players so long as we've been seen to spend some money, back the manager and appease a fan base who have become too accustomed to having it all now?

The comparisions with the Conte window I find the most amusing, that summer we literally did what people want us to do now (spend for spending sake).

That Vlahovic lad does look a proper player. So much composure considering how big he is.

James and Sterling (Azpilicueta too) is sorted. Question is whether we can improve on Alonso as backup for LWB and I can't see that we realistically can. Gosens probably looking to be a nailed on starter somewhere.

Immediately improve? No. There is tchouameni however who offers a different skill set than who we currently have. A skill set we are currently missing. He also has a very, very high ceiling so to acquire his services at the price listed is a no brainer for me.
