I VPN'd it

Kai Havertz has left the German national team camp in Stuttgart to complete his move to Chelsea.

Havertz has agreed to move to Stamford Bridge from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee understood to be around £72million plus add-ons, which would make him Chelsea’s club record signing.

The attacking midfielder will undergo his final medical checks before official confirmation of his Chelsea move on a five-year contract.

Havertz will become Chelsea’s fifth signing of the summer, with head coach Frank Lampard still hoping to add a new goalkeeper and possibly a defensive midfielder to his squad before the transfer window shuts next month.

Confirming Havertz’s departure from the German camp, a statement from the national federation said: “Kai Havertz left the German national team's quarters in Stuttgart on Friday. The reason for this is the impending transfer to England.”

Oliver Bierhoff, director of the national team, added: “The future belongs to Kai - in the club and in the national team. Of course we would have preferred if he could have fully concentrated on the national team at the start of the new international season.

“But we are aware of the importance for Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Kai and want to deal with it responsibly. At the same time, it is an honor and recognition for German football when young German players are in demand at top international clubs. From the experience these players have in Collecting abroad - both in terms of sport and personal development - can also benefit the national team. We were in constant contact with Rudi Völler in order to find a good solution together.”

Leverkusen appeared to confirm the move in a statement that added: “In order to clarify matters for a possible move to the Premier League club FC Chelsea, Kai Havertz left the Stuttgart team quarters of the German national soccer team on Friday. This step took place after consultation between Bayer 04 and the DFB management.”

Leverkusen sporting director Voller said: “I exchanged ideas with Oliver Bierhoff and Jogi Löw over the past few days. The DFB's understanding of the special situation of the player and also of us as a club. We are grateful to the national coach that Kai can now sort things out with our support on site in London.”

Kai Havertz will not become the most expensive signing in Chelsea’s history after director Marina Granovskaia managed to negotiate an initial fee of around £62million for the German international.

And even if the £8m in add-ons are eventually realised, Havertz’s full transfer fee will not top the £72m Chelsea paid for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga two summers ago.

Chelsea had been reluctant to make Havertz their club record signing, not because they do not believe he is not good enough, but because of the pressure such a title would have put on the 21-year-old’s shoulders.

Kepa has undoubtedly struggled under the weight of being Chelsea’s record signing and the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, but Havertz on Friday travelled to London without any of that extra pressure.

Leverkusen had wanted £72m, plus add-ons totalling another £20m, but with Chelsea the only club willing or able to pay big money for him this summer, coupled with the attacking midfielder’s desire to move to London, Granovskaia was able to negotiate the German club down.

Havertz on Friday left the German national team camp in Stuttgart to complete his move to Chelsea on what is expected to be a five-year contract. He becomes the club’s fifth signing of the summer, with head coach Frank Lampard still hoping to add a new goalkeeper and possibly a defensive midfielder to his squad before the transfer window shuts next month.

so she shaved off £20m for Havertz and the £20 to £30m (depending on what one believes Leicester actually were asking for Chilwell, which was going round and round between 70 and 80m quid)

I will give her full credit and call it £50m saved

so that takes the running tally from summer 2017 down to around a negative £370m or so

BUT that figure is based on already low prices for the dregs that unfortunately are going to be FAR lower than even those low prices I already assumed (Bats, Baka, Drinkwater, etc etc etc)

on the positive side it doesn't include the frees for Thiago and Sarr

I will value those two at a combined £30m

so down to £340 negative

and IF we do end up with £140m en toto for Hazard

then the negative goes down to £320m, as that is £20m more than my max calculation was up to at one point

at least we are moving (atm) in a positive direction in a huge way

and again, I never played ALL the blame on Marina by any means, it was a collective board effort of shitbaggery

I do not even know if she was not allowed to sell Willian and Alonso for a combined £110m in summer 2018, etc

perhaps her hands were tied, but someone sure as hell cocked up multiple times

I also give Marina full credit to NOT dealing with the Italian game playing cunts in Serie A (buying wise), she finally learned that lesson (or someone did)

I just hope she forces AC Milan to accept an obligation to buy on Bakadonkey

she is on a really good roll now, and perhaps most was never even her fault and was other people fucking it all up

I can only give a full tally when the books are cleared on the remain dregs and too olds or not the not good enoughs who came in

some of those will be for decent profits, some will be massive losses (much of those losses are already baked into that running tally though)

also, and finally, additional loan fees that were not included (some were) will need to be subtracted too (which is a positive)

Yet people still insult her?? Should be kissing her feet

I posted this in the Havertz thread, but it should be here too. someone is going in and changing the Wiki, but I got a copy of the first paragraph before they could.

Marina Queen of mugging off Leverkusen Granovskaia is a Russian-Canadian who is currently a director at Chelsea F.C. and has a vice grip on the nuts of Bayer Leverkusen She absolutely scammed them of a deal for Kai Havertz for a total of £62 million + £8 million in add ons. [1] She is responsible for brokering the team's sponsorship deal with Nike, that will fund £60m per year to the club until 2032. A statue is in the works outside Stamford Bridge for her dedication to the club and constant conning of football clubs around Europe[2]

It was the managers fault. i remember Sarri wanting to keep Willian and Alonso.

That is why it's great that we have a second season with the same coach. it always help when we have 2 or 3 years of stability. So Lampard had one full season to assess the squad, something that never happen, because when Conte came in by the time he realize a player was crap he was out. Likewise Sarri.

Not only that but also having Cech helped a lot as wel.

And we also benefited because of market conditions.

The only downside to Havertz is that report I saw today from David in which Kai was still waiting for other options, judging from the fact Antonio said he would try to convince him up until 2 days ago, I assume this was the hold up which is a bit of a bummer, hope he doesn't end up wanking himself in public like Hazard did.

Tbh Nike deal until 2032 for 60m was never great. It was great back then when signed and maybe for a couple years, but with more and more money in football, most big clubs would get better deals by the 2025.

What was plenty in 2018 would be norm in 2025, never mind 2032. And then we would have to break the contract, much like we did with adidas. Because contracts worth doubled and adidas didnt have to improve that since we were stupid enough to sign such a long term contract.

These super long term contracts were good for united or real, who went into crazy crazy numbers that will be maybe matched in 2030. 60m is a figure easy to be reached by arsenal, city,...teams that have inferior role compared to Chels. Just look at arse. Went from puma (30m per year) to adidas (60m per year). Liverpool went from 40m per year to 70m per year. City went from 12m per year with Nike to 65m with Puma.

Still think 60m is anywhere near a good deal in 12 years time? 😂 oh and on top of that we had to pay 300m termination fee.

Not to mention, for whatever reason adidas refused to give us 60m per year, but they gave it to arse. Great negotiations indeed. More like a big fuck you by adidas and we went to a company that makes lesser good looking kits.

If Pulisic truly becomes superstar, we could have even more leverage, but not now with contract already there.

But yeah, thanks to corona, it will halt the price increases, so the difference wont be this massive.

With Havertz in, I'd give our transfer window a 9/10 so far. That will raise to a 9.5/10 if we get a new keeper in and a 10/10 if we manage to offload some of our duds like Emerson, Barkley, Bakayoko, Drinkwater etc.

Just a stunning job we've done so far.

Might as well go 11/10 if we sell these dregs because as Matt reported if this happens were in for a DM as well whoever that may be Rice or hopefully someone like Zakaria.

Wonder if this means anything...

Lille? Meaning we’re getting Maignan?

Interestingly, Mendy didn’t feature Rennes’ last game at all, not even on the bench and no reports of being injured.

Edit: seems like Mendy got tested positive for COVID-19 hence the absence, smh.
