So if we’re genuinely after him I wonder what that means for Koundé who also plays on that side. If De Ligt is indeed Tuchel’s man then I once again bring up Gvardiol who as a left footed player would perfectly slot in as our LCB. Both aren't happening, basically it's either Kounde or De Ligt for RCB. Edited June 25, 2022 by Blues Forever

Our other CB will need to be an experienced one especially if we promote Colwill into the squad (which we should). If he's still as good as before Romagnoli on a free transfer would be a perfect solution for LCB.

Apparently Kounde was a club target and Marina was the driving force as she is close to his agent. We'll since there was an announcement she will be leaving.. links have cooled. No coincidence that. Hmm I actually think it is an appropriate signing for a team without CL. Jesus is not good enough to lead a line for CL club.

TBH, they make have been making 'big' signings last few seasons but still miss out on UCL football. Last season Odegaard, season before was Partey (who had just won league with Atletico) and season before they bought Pepe (who had just ripped up the Ligue 1). This season it may be Jesus and Raphinha (or another player). Let's see. Looks like they are building something big but we hear this season after season. Marvin123 530
🚨 EXCL: Chelsea plan to offer Timo Werner + cash for de Ligt. 🇩🇪🇳🇱 The Blues prepare to offer around €25-30m + Werner, but it is seen as too little for Juventus, they want more 💰. De Ligt is keen on a move to Chelsea and Werner is a keen on a move to Juve. With @DiMarzio https://t.co/VMD5bc1aj0

I used to yearn for Romagnoli, for years, but he was went to utter poo poo for the last 2 years or so one of the more bizarre CB collapses out there, especially as it started around 24, 25 years of age, which should be the start of a long peak time Tomo

Superblue 6,372
There was an Athletic article the other day that mentioned Boehly started looking at the Lukaku deal in a baseball way with regards to seeing if Inter could do a player trade if they werent prepared to put money down on a deal. Now we have last night reports that we've offered cash and Timo for De Ligt. This is interesting because player swaps aren't very common, I assume partly due to how they may be treated for FFP purposes with amortisation, etc but I also read somewhere Marina wasn't a fan of them as it usually leads to devaluing a player when packaging them into a deal. However, there's an argument if players from both sides want the moves to happen its a logical solution and it has always been a popular move in American sports. It allows us to potentially move on players we'd otherwise struggle to do (i hardly see there being a big market for Werner), whilst maximising/extending transfer budgets. Interestingly if this works I see us thinking along similar lines of how we can sweeten a deal with West Ham for Rice. They've been linked with a few of our players over the last 12 months - Broja, Barkley, RLC, Gilmour. Fernando
