Should Chelsea use their buy-back for Diego Moreira?

Maybe for another reason?

Chelsea apparently have a very favourable buy-back option to bring Diego Moreira back to Stamford Bridge.

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund are among the clubs to have Diego Moreira on their shortlist for the summer.

He states that Moreira is planning a move in the upcoming window, with a potential fee in the region of €30–40 million.

Chelsea are believed to hold a very favourable buy-back option.

I mean, of course they do. It’s literally their own club that they have ‘agreed’ the option with! It’s very easy for them to transfer players between Chelsea and Strasbourg.

So, should Chelsea sign Moreira back? Maybe they should sign him back to sell him for profit? Or maybe they need to just let Strasbourg have that profit?

I didn’t rate Moreira AT ALL when he arrived at Chelsea. I seriously thought he was awful and didn’t even look like a footballer. But he’s since improved a lot and has been decent at Strasbourg. Perhaps being in a league that is nowhere near as tough has really helped him. But he’s also clearly developed as a player.

But for me, no, I’d not be signing him back at Chelsea. We need to upgrade our left side in the attacking areas this summer, and by that I mean SERIOUSLY upgrade with a guaranteed starter who is MUCH better than what we have out there right now - a needle mover.

What’s your thoughts?

🗯🔵Chelsea Eye Rising Dutch Star Ruud Niistad

Chelsea are keeping close tabs on FC Twente's highly-ratec 18-vear-old centre-back Ruud Viistad ahead of the summer window.

The voung defender. who broke into the first team in October 2025, has shown impressive resilience-bouncing back from a brief spell out of the squad to pecome a regular starter since January.

In today's Chelsea news, Alejandro Garnacho may be leaving Chelsea this summer less than one year after Chelsea signed him from Manchester United. Chelsea also may be interested in signing Darwin Nunez from Al Hilal this summer... Moises Caicedo is set to become the new captain whilst Reece James is out injured and Enzo Fernandez remains suspended following his International break comments about Real Madrid...

💰 @JacobsBen on CFC's record-breaking agent fees: They [CFC hierarchy] have certain favored agents that help them broker deals, even if that agent doesn't directly represent a client. If you're using a broker and the player's agency, then that's two payments, not one.

I love the 51% of the voters. Money or not, they cannot be distracted, they just want to continue their life without Diego Moreira.

💥🔵Chelsea scouts watched Sporting’s Maxi Aruajo last night vs Arsenal and are still keeping tabs on Ousmane Diomande.

Jan Paul Van Hecke has been added to list of potential interested CB targets.

Diomande joining Arsenal will be bad news for us.. Quenda and Estevao better explode quickly and loudly or we will end up with Neto forever.

💥🔵Chelsea have entered the race for the 18 y/o talented centre-back Karim Coulibaly, who is seen as a top talent with huge potential. CFC are very impressed with his development.

A summer move is 100% planned. Several top clubs are scouting him, including Real Madrid, ManUtd, Newcastle, PSG and Napoli.

Werder Bremen are still hoping for a fee of €40-50m.

💨Plettigoal" Chelsea loses the race for Said El Mala. In the end, Brighton will pay the price, just as they did with Georginio Rutter, Ferdi Kadıoğlu, Matt O'Riley, and Mats Wieffer.

🗯🔵Personal terms between Said El Mala and Brighton were never an issue. Salary, contract length, and the package for his brother Malek have been agreed in principle for weeks.

However, there is still no agreement with Köln. Reports suggesting otherwise are being denied. There are currently no advanced negotiations either. Effzeh are pushing for €40-50 million guaranteed, which Brighton are not willing to pay at this stage.

☢️🔵#BHAFC have a sell-on clause for CFC bound Valentin Barco. Now understand the clause is 10%.

we could have had him in January for HALF of what we will have to pay this summer

PLUS

we now will have ALL the huge teams to fight off for him

I posted on him like crazy back last window

I could tell he was a special one (no offence to Mou, lol)

I do not care if this makes me sound silly, BUT literally I am a far better judge of talent than our millions of pounds worth of sporting directors and scouts

look at my record of prediction since BlueCo bought us

then compare it to theirs

mine blows theirs away, at least in terms of non schoolboys

agree, and the same for all the other big EPL sides as well (Citeh, Manure, Pool, NUFC, Villa, and even Spuds if they do not go down) especially if Arse lose Calafiori, as even though I rate Cala over Dio (even moreso because Cala is alaso a superb LB), Dio is still a quality CB

Chelsea are set to change their transfer policy this summer after a number of complaints from first team stars over the lack of experience in the squad.

The Blues have spent more than €1.5 billion on players since the takeover by Clearlake Capital in 2022 but they have not signed a player over the age of 26 since the first summer under their new owners.

Chelsea have the youngest average age by some distance in the Premier League and the oldest player in the squad currently is 28-year-old Tosin Adarabioyo, with the club’s transfer strategy to target younger players instead.

However, Chelsea have had a number of disappointing results and performances this season which led to defender Marc Cucurella voicing his frustration at the ‘lack of experience’ that has cost his side during the campaign.

Cucurella’s comments came around the same time Enzo Fernandez was disciplined by Chelsea for his comments fuelling speculation about a move to Real Madrid and it has led to fears over the long-term vision of the squad.

However, according to the BBC, Chelsea have assured Cucurella and captain Reece James that they will make ‘experienced’ signings at centre-back, midfield and attack this summer in order to appease matters.
