I think the real flaw in the strategy during this transfer window may, and I stress may, have been to over estimate the  amounts achievable from the sales of Jackson and Nkunku. I say may because, until the window closes, we can't really know whether or not the club has accomplished what it set out to do.

It is possible that, had the club realised it might not achieve the necessary value from those sales it may well have reordered at least one incoming transfer. If the club genuinely saw Gittens as a higher priority than Simons or Garnacho then fair enough. If they miscalculated however, then that error is going to put our squad development back at least 6 months and probably more.

Think you’re spot on regarding Jackson and Nkunku. The club may have badly overestimated how much other clubs would value these two. We probably figured we’d be able to comfortably make near what we paid for Nkunku and probably thought that with so many clubs super desperate for a striker that we’d easily be able to double our money on Jackson.

After these things didn’t happen all summer we have then started to hope that clubs like Newcastle or Villa would get really desperate and just throw money at us. But even that hasn’t happened.

Other clubs are calling our bluff.

Wonder if we’re dumb enough to include a sell on with Garnacho. That would make an already underwhelming deal pretty shitty.

One of the positives the pro Garnacho people point to is that we can always sell him for profit in the future. Well, we can’t if we give United a sell on percentage which we’ve done with several deals recently under Clearlake.

Hasn’t it been reported that Nkunku has to go specifically to Leipzig or the Simons deal doesn’t happen?

No mate, RB asked about him and were open to his return but it's more on us getting rid of him to trigger the deal for Simons not him going to Leipzig

Some did but makes no sense why that would be the case.

Ok. I thought they wanted Nkunku back as a direct replacement for Simons.

Santi FM saying a deal for Nkunku to Mila is close and they are preparing a bid close to 30/40ME and personal terms are close

+ Leipzig and Aston Villa want to propose a permanent deal, get him the fuck out already.
