Newcastle United are preparing a new bid of around £55m for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, reports Simon Jones

and he scored 2 late, really top class goals in the last 7, 8 minutes to knock out West ham in the League Cup 3 2

lol the nonsense on here.

Happens every single time. You guys pile on to signings you don’t like.
Bloke has played one game and we are acting like he is off the pace.

This forum is absolute shambles when we aren’t winning every second of the day. The first 15 mins of the West Ham game thread is another great example of this.

absolutely agree

it is just so predictable

Jesus christ how much money we will get from sales this summer

unbelieveble

it still may not be enough according to UEFA

Looks like Nkunku or Jackson would have to be permanent sale to balance books for champions league registration

Miguel Rico, on the sale of Fermín to @ChelseaFC, on @partidazocope

💰 "At @FCBarcelona he's earning 6 million and there he could earn up to 15 million"

💼 "Deco doesn't want to let him go for less than 70 million euros"

no way we sign Fermin to a £250K PW 7 year contract (that is what 15m euros per annum at current FOREX breaks down to, and 7 years seems to be the standard length of contract we go choose to go for)

thats around £90.5m just in salary

Oh look, Thor trying to be edgy again by backing every single transfer BlueCo makes.

Gittens will be given time to prove himself like every player does. Not impressed with his start or what I'm hearing from BVB fans who didn’t rate him at all and couldn’t care less when he left. They even mocked us for paying that amount.

He’s going to need a fair few goals and assists to his name come the end of the season to justify that price tag.

he is not trying to be edgy IMHO

I have not always agreed with them (no one on here agrees with anyone 100 per cent of the time) but we all need to take in far more of a smaple size that a handful of games before writing players off

Was Gittens a prime target of mine for LWer? No, but I want to see that he can do over the course of a season before I am ready to bin him for good.

I do not think that is taking an unreasonable stance, but your mileage may vary.

Sources: Enzo Maresca's priority is a winger

Updates on Fermin Lopez, Xavi Simons, and Alejandro Garnacho

https://siphillipstalkschelsea.substack.com/p/sources-enzo-marescas-priority-is

There’s been some confusion around Chelsea’s late flurry of transfer activity yesterday so I’ll do my best to explain it all from what we know. Chelsea do have an interest in Fermin Lopez of Barcelona and they could easily divert to him as a transfer target this week. However, as of right now, Xavi Simons is still the priority target for that position. Chelsea are still working on getting that deal done.

We heard yesterday from one of our sources that Chelsea showing an interest and speaking to the agent of Lopez is to put pressure on the Simons deal. It’s not a smokescreen as such because Chelsea have liked Lopez for a while. But as of right now, Simons is the one they want to get still. It can change fast and Chelsea could push more for Lopez should they decide to do that if Simons is not doable for whatever reason - but right now that has not happened.

Some were asking yesterday why we were prioritising Alejandro Garnacho over Simons. This is simply because Enzo Maresca is prioritising a winger over an attacking midfielder. He ideally wants and has asked for both positions, but if he had to chose one or the other, he would chose a winger over an attacking midfielder. Chelsea are still working to bring him both, and Chelsea are still working to bring him Garnacho and Simons. Maresca wants strong wide options and proper wingers. We still need to sell Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, but there is still an expectation that both will go.

It’s all getting a bit tense and a bit silly in my opinion as we enter the last five days of the window. Maresca wants attacking reinforcements, Chelsea need sales and want to buy players on their terms and will not have their pants pulled down in negotiations. So literally anything can still happen this window and we could see plenty more surprises, changes, and drama.

Best teenagers: top 200 worldwide

logo football observatory

The 510th Football Observatory’s Weekly Post presents the 200 footballers worldwide who have not yet turned 20 with the best CIES ratings for matches played in 2025. The score is the average of two values : a performance index calculated from the data exclusively collected by our partners Impect, and an experience index taking into account minutes played, weighted by the sporting level of the matches.

FC Barcelona’s prodigy Lamine Yamal tops the rankings with a CIES ratings of 97.7. The Spaniard has the highest value in terms of both performance and experience indices. He outranks his compatriot and teammate Pau Cubarsí, while PSG’s French international Warren Zaïre-Emery completes the podium. Roger Fernandes (SC Braga) is the highest-ranked footballer not playing in the big-5, just ahead of Geovany Quenda (Sporting CP, already signed by Chelsea).

The highest value for a footballer playing outside Europe was recorded for Elías Montiel (CF Pachuca). The Mexican ranks ahead of Brazilian Rayan Vitor (Vasco da Gama) and Argentine Santino Andino (Godoy Cruz). No fewer than 48 leagues are represented in the top 200. The three youngest players listed are Mexico’s Gilberto Mora (Club Tijuana), Poland’s Oskar Pietuszewski (Jagiellonia Bialystok) and Serbia’s Vasilije Novičić (IMT Belgrade).
