Just had a look over on Barcaforum to see what they think of Fermín Lopez. They’re mostly really against selling him and think the reported €50m is far too cheap.

I disagree. He hasn't looked like a 50m starting role signing so far and lot of people rightly pointing out that saving the 50m spent on him would ease the problems in signing Simons

It would be pretty fucked up if we’ve been negotiating for and telling Xavi all summer that we really want him, agreed personal terms with him, and had him rejecting a bunch of other big clubs so that he can come here and then we switch to Fermín instead at the last moment. Especially if we were to end up paying a similar price.

If we had never been linked with Xavi Simons at all and Fermín was the first choice all along I’d be happy with him. But it would feel like a huge letdown for me personally if we don’t get Xavi now. I think he instantly slots in and hits the ground running and he reportedly really wants to play here.

With Fermín you’re signing a player who’s probably super sad and reluctant to be leaving his boyhood club. Who knows how he’d take to the PL.

Also can't take seriously any praise for 17yo player from Kazakhstan because odds are against him. There's never been good enough player from his country for top level, not even close.

It was similar a couple of years ago with Zakharyan and his career went nowhere...

How are you making this call after 1 game? 
 

He was BVBs second leading scorer despite getting benched at the end due to not being in the new managers plans. 
He scored 2 less goals than Xavi and Wirtz despite playing less minutes. 
 

So where is this assessment coming from? Aside from the 50 minute cameo - where he actually looked better than Palmer and J Pedro that game funnily enough.

Don't think it's a stretch to say Gittens coming in has not improved the starting XI. Could have saved the 50+ millions and signed a winger who could take on a starting role.

Oh look, Thor trying to be edgy again by backing every single transfer BlueCo makes.

Gittens will be given time to prove himself like every player does. Not impressed with his start or what I'm hearing from BVB fans who didn’t rate him at all and couldn’t care less when he left. They even mocked us for paying that amount. 
 

He’s going to need a fair few goals and assists to his name come the end of the season to justify that price tag.

Clearly I’m wrong and we have all seen enough. Hope he doesn’t play anymore because we know he’s shit now.
 

Just commenting how hypocritical some are when a player who wasn’t wanted doesn’t hit the ground running from minute 1.
