i can see us not buying a cb since:

1) we have a lot of players here already

2) colwill will eventually come back and maresca will have to balance the team somehow to keep everyone happy

3) perfect chance to give our youngest players playing time to see who can we rely on in the future

The hierarchy can believe we have enough all they want. But if the manager says that we need a new CB, wouldn’t he know much better than they would?

Tbh it is very deep. We are tomorrow literally without starting CBs Fofana/Colwill, first backup Tosin and squad player Badiashile. 

But we still have Chalobah and Hato to start and to put Josh and Anselmino on the bench. 

We don't even count on Disasi and Veiga which would make 10 CBs!

The Veiga situation is so weird. We still don’t have any clue why he isn’t even being considered. Did he forever lose Maresca’s respect for demanding to leave in order to play CB?

It’s basically a Chelsea tradition at this point that if you’re a young player who has a successful loan you’re at least given a chance to make it here. Mount, Gallagher, Andrey Santos, Reece, Colwill etc.

Yet Veiga was apparently really solid at Juve and isn’t even being considered. If he’s good enough that the likes of Atleti were seriously considering him why isn’t he given a chance I wonder?

It doesn't matter if you have 3, 8 or 25 CB's on the books, the question is, can they play a decent role if they are picked....and the answer has already been given by Maresca who wants a new CB. 

All this talk about Aaron from posters on this forum but not a word from Maresca, he'll most likely be on loan somewhere in the January window to get minutes.

And there we go. Exactly the problem I mentioned. We are screwed if either one of Chalobah or Tosin are out. Fofana hasn't played for months.

It's unfortunate, but the club should save face and either hand Veiga a lifeline or forgo the Garnacho transfer and focus on a defensive reinforcement.
