If we manage to get them to pay a guaranteed £50m for Madueke that is FANTASTIC business. We’ve seen during this CWC that he’s already been tossed out to the left wing where he’s even worse than he is in natural RW position and that’s before Estevão even arrives. That tells you all you need to know about Maresca’s thinking. Even Nkunku is ahead of him currently.

He’ll be a good squad option for Arse just as he would be here if he stays. But for £50m it’s too good to pass up.

Hasn't he been tossed out because of the transfer interest in him?  He was ahead of Nkunku and even Sancho, Neto last season.

And there's interest in him because he's been good (not spectacular) and has given glimpses that he can be of great use in a game - constantly takes on defenders, always looking to progress the ball. I can see BlueCo taking a 50m + deal but I don't see how replacing Madueke (who is 23, used to the Premier League and has consistently got better in the last two seasons) with a teenager like Estevao is making the squad better?

If we are looking to replace Madueke, a good player will cost more than 50m.

Chelsea's transfer strategy still a mystery under Todd Boehly

Good article, not sure if this strategy will last forever and not collapse.

Won't collapse. For the most part bar the first transfer window where mistakes were made, we keep making very smart decisions from a financial standpoint.

Our players sales are great. We invest and sell in plenty of homegrown talent which is all pure profit as well.

This group is money savvy and they will not want their investment down the drain. Dodgers, Lakers, Chelsea. The other two franchises alongside us are the premier clubs in their sport, or just about the top.

Just let it happen.

Neto played more minutes in PL last season. And pretty much won the battle. Don't think it's even debatable who is a better player. And unlike Noni can actually cover left side as well pretty solid. If this tournament is anything to go by Palmer is going to play his primary role again often. Also Estevao is not just some random youngster but Neymar level of talent. Ofc you open up a space for him.

The Arse fan meltdown over Madueke is historic. I’ve never seen that fanbase this apoplectic about a potential signing. 🤣🤣🤣

I cannot even imagine what will happen if we go out and replace Noni with someone better.

literally happens every week on this forum 🤣

I knew all that

I meant WHY are those source of raising funding rules in place?

cash is cash

fuck UEFA

cunts

On UEFA’s side, it is pretty much a source of income and probably makes other teams feel like it is a way to stop the biggest teams from just fielding a massively superior team….. but that happens all the time…so back to income from a luxury tax. The fact that they require it from players sales just a way to appease other teams and make themselves look like they are stewards of the game. This same ownership group pays Major League Baseball a luxury tax every year for the Dodgers exceeding the salary cap. Last year they paid $103m in the luxury tax. They look at it as a part of doing business to having a competitive team to win titles. The Yankees paid $62.5m last year. The amazing part is even MLB has an escalating tax for repeated yearly fines, the Dodgers just keep paying it.

As a fan, you love to see owners who are willing to fork over some cash to win.

This is clear proof. Other was Boehly 100 points team quote. And crazy fees paid for Enzo and Caicedo another one. But all this won't stop people saying how these owners don't care about results only profit which couldn't be further from the truth.

Ahead of Neto?    Maybe in the early part of the season but compare their performances from say March onwards (the business end of the season).
Madueke - 1 assist

Neto - 3 goals, 3 assists.

For all the talk about Madueke, take away that hat-trick vs Wolves and his stats aren't amazing.

Arsenal are also believed to be confident that Ethan Nwaneri will sign a  new contract at the Emirates despite interest from Chelsea and German clubs in the 18-year-old.

Penders going to Strasbourg is great. A season starting for a club at a decent level like that is perfect. If he’s as good as the scouts who pushed to sign him for a lot of money say he is then we endure 1 last season of Sanchez and then Penders can take over this time next year.

In other news, Fabrizio now saying Napoli are NOT working on Garnacho now. That means there’s still a chance our board make a huge mistake and go for him once Noni is out the door. Ffs…was hoping Napoli saved us from ourselves.

And potentially European football as well (Lyon's relegation being overturned means Conference League qualifiers await).

😔

The whole he only wants to play midfield thing was far fetched. He just wants a better contract given his role. One of the most played 18 year olds in Europe.
