The example of us already selling players who were recently signed - the guy loaned to Southampton, Dortmund, Petrovic, Felix and Renato Veiga - only shows that the main focus is indeed financial. could use some of the money for the main team, but they prefer to invest in young players, loan them out, increase their value and sell them for more and earn the difference everything we feared is coming true.

We have spent over a billion pounds and the first team has changed in every aspect bar Reece James? Saying we bought bad players is one thing but saying we should buy first team players instead of buying players to loan is crazy, they bought a whole new first team….

I just don't think its the panic stations everyone is going on about.

People are praising PSG, but they signed all their current great talent at under 25... We have been trending upwards.

Our players are going to be a year older, more experienced, resilient, and in tune with the manager and his method of playing.

People are acting as if we were world beaters the last 10 years. We've won 1 PL title in the last 10 years. Our "success" is a bit of a mask when we had an extraordinary and unexpected CL run where we happened to hit our stride, and clearly built a cup side, but one not capable of winning the league (ala early 2000s Liverpool).

If you zoom out and look at things for what they are - this last season results wise was one of our best in the last 10 years aside from the PL winning season, and CL winning season. We're in top 4, CL, and won a trophy.

We are the youngest team in the league (history actually). Have some of the most promising players in Cole, Caicedo, Lavia, Enzo, Santos and Estevao in our team - who will continue to grow, be a staple/core of the team, and the average age between them is under 23 years old... We have RJ who can hopefully work his way back and is only 25. We have the likes of Colwill who has been hot and cold but is 22.

I'm personally excited for the likes of Essugo, who is young and strong as a bull. I've heard nothing but great things about Quenda who will be joining us next season too.

People are yearning for this return to glory, but it was masked well in the last 10 years under Roman. It wasn't as consistent or glory filled as we pretend. We had patches where we made it work. Both of our CL wins happened and were shocks to most of us. We didn't win while we were dominant, we won because we hit stride and it masked the faults of the club that were plain and obvious.

Now we go into next season with more experience and a year older, know how to win a major final, and they showed when it gets tough they know how to get results with the last stretch. That is big. Yes I wasn't happy with the play since Xmas, but they dug deep and won. That is important. Is there things I'd like to be done better? Yes, clearly defensive and GK signings have been god awful, but I'm sure it is a point of making it better. Maignan would have been nice, but is it far and away the surefire thing we think it is? Maybe not - and glad they approached with caution considering how poor they've been spending money on keepers.

I’m not doing the whole, comparing us to PSG thing because it’s utter tripe. First and foremost they have a World Class manager who is lightyears ahead of ours. Secondly, they actually have experienced players in that squad OVER the age of 25..

Marquinhos (Captain) - 31 years

Ruiz - 29 years

Kimpembe - 29 years

L.Hernandez - 29 years

Dembele - 28 years

Hakimi - 26 years

Donna - 26 years

Our oldest players are 27 years of age of which Nkunku is disinterested, Tosin has been a fringe player and Sanchez should exiled for an eternity.

You speak of up-trending in results… we have spend £1.6billion brother.. we should be challenging for the title. There are zero excuses for the squad that has been assembled with that financial backing. Our spine is absolutely pathetic bar Moises Caicedo who is one of a few Class players they managed to pull off. Sanchez GK? A hospitalised Fofana CB? A misfiring, Bambi on ice Jackson as our main striker? You think that’s an acceptable build from a £1.6billion spent??? Seriously??

I’m not wasting my time to explain the obvious financial model and how profit is their only goal and fielding a title challanging team isn’t.. 70% of the fanbase can see it for what it is..I just hope the rest wake up sooner rather than later and we actually try to oust these blood sucking leeches from our beloved club.

I want nothing more than for them to prove me wrong and go out and buy some heavy hitters to create a proper spine. I do think they have purchased some good players that would compliment some heavy hitters but in order to do that, they need to offer the correct wages. Until they do, I fear the likes of Estavao, Palmer, Essugo and others will not reach their full potential. Again I want nothing more than to be proven wrong but as it stands, we are Galaxy’s away from that being our truth.

For me the most important thing this window is to get two starting level CB's. For me, Colwill is the only starting level guy we have and Trev is good as a rotational option (although he is almost certainly going to be sold.)

For me, our single biggest issues are that Caicedo isn't a proper DM (as he plays best when he has Lavia next to him as he can then go hunting the ball. and our CB's aren't good enough when we don't have enough of the ball.

As for CF, I am quite happy with Delap. I know a lot of people want someone with puffed up numbers in other leagues but I just don't see the risk with the likes of VO, Gyokeres and Etikeke being worth it. Gyokeres when I watch him makes me realise why Brighton cut him loose at 21-23. He cannot really head and he needs a lot of space to score. For me, he has disaster written all over him. VO for me also has a lot of red flags. One thing with Conte is that he is pretty pragmatic with players unless he feels like they love money more than the game or are difficult in training. From all accounts VO is both and his stats aren't even great when you consider the level of opposition he has faced. Etikeke on the other hand looks like a typical Bundesliga striker that is good with space and not having much contact. If anyone is doing big money for a CF the only people I see worth the risk is Alverez or Isak and they're both impossible.

As for GK I am not so sure why so many people have gone on suicide watch over it. I still think a deal for Mike will be done. We are just playing hardball and need to shift Kepa, Petro and find loans for Jorgensen and Penders (unless Penders does enough to justify a 2/3rd role where he can get some experience in the domestic cups and play U21.) After that, we can revist Mike, as if we do that it gives us a little more leeway with the books and if he really does want to come to us he can spend the next few weeks in the Milan boards ear.

As for AM, I am just not seeing anyone out there that I am thinking we have to sign. Firstly, Gittens to me feels like a bullet dodged, Garnacho feels over priced and problematic, Williams and Rodrygo would smash the wage structure. For me, I personally want Rogers but that is a tricky one that will likely involve various swaps. My hope is that can be done a bit later in the window.

At the moment, I think people just need to see how things go. There are still two months to get stuff done and this small window was always going to be problematic in getting players in as other clubs knew our CWC participation whilst they have nothing. Only real current arguments that can be had for this window is that the bloated squad leaves us with a lot to do with regards to trimming the squad.

Whatever happened to Kudus thing? We got linked and then the story just diced after like a day. Not that he’s what we need, but still.

Bremer

Before this:

On 2 October 2024, Bremer sustained a serious ACL injury in his left knee which forced him to miss the rest of the 2024–25 season.

He was a WC CB and exactly what we needed.

27 yo (up until this spring) powerful, great on the ball, great at man-marking

I have loved him as a CB since his Torino days.

Yet we just kept buying shit.

Yeah veiga for example brought for 15m and we will demand at least 25m or 30m to sold him

we paid 14m euro (£11.5m at the time) for him

I absolutely would not sell him for anything less than 35m quid

I think he is quality

I have watched many of his games, bother for Juve and for Portugal

he was great as a sub in the Portugal finals win v Spain

I must have seen him on wrong games(only saw for Juve), I never seen anything expectional.

I think Hato be targetted next week.Maignan again sometime later once they are reminded of what they currently got in the keeper ranks during the CWC group stages.

The LM/LW/LF addition i think will be the last one to be completed and i suspect will involve a player + cash. With Quenda on the horizon i don't believe they want to spend too much cash on someone to the point that the incoming player would expect to start ahead of Quenda without having to fight for it.

Actually think Strasbourg will be a great loan for him, he'll be a starter most likely and it's a great spot to adapt to Europe. Come here and he'll get stuff all minutes.
