City have had the exact sort of surgically precise week we were sold on us having leading into the CWC. They had clearly identified all their targets some time ago and went out and got each one of them with little to no drama or drawn out sagas. Cherki, Reijnders, Ait Nori in the span of 1 week. Following them doing similar in January.

Now their new team gets to gel and train together all summer and can hit the ground knowing exactly what Pep wants from them once the PL starts. Meanwhile, our club is penny pinching and gaslighting the fanbase.

Their January signings weren't exactly precise though they've spent a lot of money. Khusanov is struggling and the jury is still out on Marmoush imo.

Article says Newcastle are being stalled in the hope Chelsea enters the bidding for Trafford. Another City academy product.

And just like clockwork… the inevitable Trafford to Chelsea o is starting to surface.

Do not believe another breif that involves Chelsea and an established players name ever again under this ownership…

They only care about profitability  and the footballing side of this club is not the priority.

If you as a fan think that’s the correct decision then why on Earth are you supporting a sporting club that is participating in a game that the aim is to win???

If it’s business you are interested in, then why not support the stock markets?

Wasn’t he the top performing GL of Ligue 1??

He looks really good to me. Way better than Sanchez.

i just can’t believe a club of our size genuinely believes Sanchez is the answer.

Petrovic's ball-playing was dodgy last time he was here. But you'd think the CWC was ideal to test someone coming out of a good loan. For all they've done right, the board has completely bungled decisions around GKs

Exactly this. Just because a deal is a few mil away, doesn't mean we have to be the ones to come up and meet it.

Especially when everything being reported is - this is the number that should get it done - then we reach it, and then its higher all of a sudden.

Nah - good on us for not folding. Maignan and Gittens aren't some worldly level talent that takes us over the edge. There are plenty of other players out there.

“There are other players out there”

The brief coming out is the club weren’t looking for a GK prior to Maignan being offered to us. And believe that Sanchez, Jorgensen & Penders will be sufficient for the coming CWC & up season.

Gittens not so fussed about, nobody is, its the whole GK situation and Maignan deal causing the hassle.

“Good on us for not folding” for fuck sake did you see the figures involved 😂

We offered between £8-12.5m for France’s number 1… if the shoe was on the other foot and Milan had offered us the same for any of our players with 1 year left on their deal, you’d be the first one to complain. Imagine they offered us £8m for Pulisic….

Fully agree regarding us relying on Sanchez, 100%, but Petrovic certainly the answer wasn’t under Poch and isn’t the answer now.

I think he will fetch a half decent fee after his season in France but I doubt we will be regretting moving him on. He won’t be going to a top 4/6 team as a number 1.

James Trafford fuck sake here we go be £25-30m for an utter average player. Joe Shields must be trying to make City some serious dosh through sell on clauses….

At least the deal for Liam Delap is looking a lot smarter now.

In hindsight, probably for the cost it does but again, he should definitely be a second choice striker at a CL club, not a leading man. Thats always going to be the thing because he needs to learn a lot still.

He isn’t going to learn anything new playing with Nicolas Jackson for instance, he’s probably forgotten more about football than Jackson’s ever known. He will probably start ahead of Jackson in all fairness.

Gyokeres isn’t worth the £59m yet alone £85m let’s put it that way. And won’t have many suitors at that price now its confirmed from Sporting’s director/president.

Sounding like a broken record but he 100% will not score half the goals he did in Portugal in any other league. Just watch his goal compilations.

Dortmund have registered Gittens for the CWC meaning he can't play for us even if we do sign him next week.

Could be a blessing in disguise but only if we don’t then move on to Garnacho.

If we get Garnacho, Delap and Trafford… there is going to be backlash of Biblical proportions.

The same people who probably have told the Brazilian lad he will play as a number 10 here when we have Cole Palmer also or that several of the other 500 youngsters we’ve bought will play in the squad as soon as possible. BlueCo have basically recreated the Roman model of stockpiling youth but now we cannot loan as many and have to do dodgy deals between ourselves and Strasborg which will be heavily scrutinised 😂

At least Emenalo or whoever identified three of the best players over the last 5-10 years for peanuts (Salah, De Bruyne, & Thibo). I highly doubt this Football manager approach will reap one WC star, let alone three.

So many names here were a waste of money, time and effort - Mudryk, Sterling, Felix, Kellyman, Ugo, Deivid

This is the track record of a board that regularly briefs reporters that they will not be forced to overpay on a deal 😂

They have already made it known that they view this as an extension of the 24/25 season. Santos is the only player included who was out on loan last season (Slonina's loan was terminated in Jan due to injury).
